Canned on 6/20/23; consumed on 7/29/23
Pours a turbid, milky sunflower-gold body capped with just over a finger of fluffy, white foam; decent head retention leaves a paper-thin veil of cap, thin, frothy collar, and a limited spattering of spotty lacing strewn across the walls of the glass.
Aromas of lime leaf ease to lime sorbet and hints of white pepper, with notes of wet grass and white guava peak into pink lemonade essence over the course of the bouquet.
Taste brings musty white grape and white guava over a wet moss undertone as hints of strawberry pith and overripe papaya over the mid-palate find lime leaf, grapefruit, tinges of mango juice in flux over the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel shows a medium body and a spritzy, moderate carbonation, dispersing a prickly grit settling to a soft slickness over the mid-palate as taut, mildly bittering textures linger into the back end.
A twangy entry explores brief, boggy interludes as the traditional, tautly tropical Monkish profile evades a more balanced sweetness in favor of an earthy, firmly resinous expression; a consistent, yet slightly more one-dimensional offering.
