Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance- The beer is served a deep golden amber color with a nice two finger head of just off white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time to leave tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is big of a bready and yeasty smell which is mixed with some grain and a good caramel showing. Along with these smells comes some lighter notes of grass and a little bit of molasses.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and caramel flavor mixed with a little bit of a molasses. As the taste advances a light yeast comes to the tongue along with a moderately strong grainy taste. Some light yeast is there as well, with this taste getting stronger and stronger as the taste moves forward. At the very end, a little bit of an herbal and grass hop taste join the tongue, leaving a rather refreshing and flavorful taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is actually a little bit thicker for a lager of 5.0% abv with a carbonation level that is average. The slightly thicker and chewier feel is actually quite nice for the yeasty and bready tastes, and with the carbonation keeping it refreshing, helps make for a flavorful and refreshing brew overall.
Overall- This was a rather tasty and still refreshing lager. I really quite enjoyed this one and hope that it comes back time and time again.
