a pineapple ipa, which by nature was either going to be great or lousy, fortunately its great! lots of juicy canned sweet pineapple aroma and flavor to this, and a slightly breadier malt base than expected with the fruit. it runs a little weird interference for a minute in the middle, but it ends up making sense. it helps keep this from being a glass of fruit juice. the pineapple obviousy already takes it in that direction, and the hops selected here exhibit some of the same tropical fruit and sweet features, which could really creaty a double jeopardy situation without this malt. the hops are good, really good, but they dont bring a whole lot of bitterness to balance the sweetness of the pineapple juice, which leaves it a little sweeter and unresolved to me, but still i really like the flavor here. not qute as much body or carbonation as i think it would ideally want to have, but a real easy drinking brew if you dont mind the sugar. had a lot of fun drinking this one, excited to see what comes out of this series next!

Poured from growler into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a golden-orange color with a small white head of foam. The head has a light level of retention, fading fast to leave a light lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell –The aroma is big of a mix of pineapple and tangerine along with some other aromas of a bready and caramel nature. Along with these smells comes some lighter grassy and hay aromas, which make a nice sweet and crisp hop aroma overall.

Taste-The taste begins with a sweeter fruit taste of tangerine and pineapple with some decently strong caramel flavors. As the taste advances more bready tastes work their way onto the tongue adding a bit more fullness to the flavor. All the while, the hop gets more and more potent from the start. Only a light presence of some grapefruit is present upfront with the grapefruit increasing and being joined by some grass, a bit of pine, and some nice floral hop flavors more toward the end. With the increase in bread and hop and a slight decrease in the tangerine (but not so much of a decrease in the pineapple or caramel which actually increase a bit in intensity) one is left with a somewhat crisp, but rather clean and sweeter hopped taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The feel was quite nice for the grainy, sweet, and hop and makes for a rather nice medium for creating a very easy drinking and flavorful brew overall.

Overall – Another nice revolver series brew by Outlaw. A bit on the sweeter side, but very balanced and drinkable overall which leaves one with a rather nice hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
