Poured from can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of pure white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a grainy smell mixed with a decent sum of raw and dank hop smells of some herb, grass and hay. Overall the aroma is pretty nice.
Taste – The taste begins with a very heavy bready taste that has a decent flavor of hop of a dank nature of herb and earth. As the taste advances the dank hop grows stronger all while the bready and grainy tastes grow stronger in nature as well. At the end some notes of a grapefruit citrus hop and a bit of toasted malt come to the tongue, and with a little bit of hay, it leaves one with a sorta bready and dank taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather heavy for the style with a carbonation level that is rather average. The thick body is a little too much for the tastes as it weighs down the palate and over accentuates the bready tastes of the brew a bit too much.
Overall – An alright brew overall. I like the dank, but the feel is a bit too heavy. OK overall and worth a try if you like a more dank tasting pale, which normally I really love.
