Brewed with 100% Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest and named after the Two Hearted River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, this IPA is bursting with hop aromas ranging from pine to grapefruit from massive hop additions in both the kettle and the fermenter.

Perfectly balanced with a malt backbone and combined with the signature fruity aromas of Bell's house yeast, this beer is remarkably drinkable and well suited for adventures everywhere.

I saw that some people scored two hearted low so I felt I needed to respond. I can only imagine that those who do not like this actually don’t like IPAs. And that’s legit. But don’t knock one of the very best IPAs on the market because you don’t like IPAs. There is a reason it scores a 95 and is described as World Class. Because it is.

Look - 12 oz can poured into a standard pint glass. light golden in color, clear, with a frothy three finger head and remarkable lacing retention.

Smell - tropical, citrus, and grassy hop notes, with underlying fruity tones. overall strikes a nice balance, but scent suggests that it can be quite hoppy.

Taste - hop bitterness hits the palate first, but is quickly balanced out by mixed fruits and malts. bitterness is moderately high and lingers along with the fruity notes for a long and complex finish.

Feel - medium bodied, above average carbonation, and on the heavier end for the style at 7%. alcohol is relatively well masked.

Overall - as one of the all time classic American IPAs, this one is a textbook material. Definitely on the hoppier side for an AIPA in today's market, but the malts and fruity notes make it enjoyable for non-hopheads as well.

My friend up in Michigan said this was one of his favorite IPA’s so I decided to try it. I poured it into a glass and it had about a little under a half finger of foam. The look of it was like a tea that was hazy and dark gold. The smell was piney and smelled citrusy. I drank it and at first I didn’t like it right away. However after a few more sips and gulps and it grew on me. The taste was nice and tasted somewhat like grapefruit with hops . It was not too bitter and the feel was not too heavy and was just the right amount of carbonation. This was by far one of the best IPA’s I have ever had. I will definitely be having another one in the future.

Thanks for the can, Pat.

Off the bat, pleasantly malty. Not the hop bomb I was anticipating, but obviously still hoppy. Resinous hoppy. More like an American barley wine than an IPA. Citrus finish. A smidge of diacetyl.

It's a decent brew but in 2026 I can get much better UK-made American style craft beer in Tesco.

12 ou can. 8 days from BB date. Beautiful appearance with thick fluffy and uneven head. Expectation is it to be intensely hoppy but the malt evens things out. Love the Centennial hops, and actually wanted more hop kick, but they are going for a balance here and not the "I am king of hops" type IPA and it works beautifully.
First tried in 2017 it has not changed down thru the years which is a good thing.
A world class IPA at a reasonable price.
If you like IPA's you will love this beer. If IPA's are not your thing you'll probably say it wasn't that bad.

A clear, tea-coloured liquid. The beer is topped with a thick, white head. Composed of fine and medium-sized bubbles, it persists on the surface for a moderate length of time. The aroma is fresh and intense. Hoppy and fruity – sweet tropical notes with a hint of pine. The flavour is distinctly bitter. The bitterness has a piney, resinous character; it is high, ‘sharp’ and long-lasting, even lingering.Moderate carbonation. Medium-plus body. The texture is almost smooth. The aftertaste is long and dry.

I dislike IPAs. But this is one I could choke down to be polite if someone gave it to me.

Right or wrong this is the standard by which all other IPAs are measured. An absolutely delicious beer that contributed to the IPA craze and many variations of the style we see today. Golden/Amber in color, long lasting sticky head. Floral aromas that smell like a fresh spring day. Very balanced between malt sweetness and citrus hop bitterness, with a dry finish. This is a classic that will never grow old.
