This is described as a strong pale ale with pine, floral and tropical hop notes. What that translates into is a dark straw color and what I can only call an oniony hop aroma. Flavor has a pronounced hop bitterness up front, followed by some floral notes, tropical fruit and a wisp of smoke. Ultimately, I was hoping for a more pronounced tropical fruit hop aroma and flavor, like some of the fruit forward west coast IPAs I’m more familiar with.
