Clean, crisp, and refreshing. Batch 1 holding up great. Had to pop my last Enlightenment bottle with the announcement that they're finally brewing again but up in Washington this time under a new name. Perfectly balanced saison that is dry and quenching.

Pours a clear golden with white head amazing carb. Good head retention. Musty, funky white wine aroma. Good wheaty backbone, some lighty lemony citrus, and white wine. Soft white grape. Extremely drinkable and delicious. This is a perfect saison.

Batch #1.
A: Clear straw pour. Tall, very fluffy white head. Great fluffy tendrils of lacing everywhere. Excellent retention.
S: Lemony; sour and bitter. Lightly grassy and wheaty.
T: More of the same. No real funkiness, just a nice sweet and sour lemon flavor. Soft, grainy malt backs it up nicely. Hints of grass and pears. Crisp, dry finish with almost no lingering aftertaste (maybe hints of citrus).
M: On the lighter side but with a super soft mouthfeel. Very smooth with a clean finish.
O: Wow, really nice saison. Simple but the drinkability is off the chart. Soft and smooth with a crisp finish. Lemony and lightly tart but not over-the-top sour or funky.

Pours a nice fluffy creamy 2 finger head that fades semi slowly with streaming bubbles, nice sticky lacing, crystal clear surprisingly, lemony yellow color.
Nose starts with a nice rustic farmhouse saison, some funk both farmhouse saison yeast and Brett funk, sour tart lemony notes, mild phenols, big fruity esters with pear and apple cider, sour fruit from the Brett, grainy doughy notes.
Taste brings more farmhouse saison funk and Brett, big fruity esters, pear and apple cider, toasty bready malts, Ruth a mild tartness and lemony note. Mild peppery phenols, nice sour Brett funk and fruit, but also farmhouse funk, toasty doughy notes. Little floral hop note late, dry finish but little sticky and sour acidic note, lingering bitter farmhouse saison and Brett funk.
Mouth is med to lighter bod, bright effervescent carb, touch flemmy slick sour note.
Overall nice, good yeast, malts, esters and phenols, tartness, even hint of hops late, all very enjoyable.

Pours a bright hazy yellow with a finger of white foam. A little high on the carbonation in the feel, but otherwise bright and slightly tart. The smell has an odd bubblegum flavor that keep throwing me, otherwise I love it with apple, lemon, funky yeast and slight leather. Taste brings more tartness to fruit and yeast, where brett and vinegar are boosted as a well done contrast.

Pours a pale hazy yellow, very light. Small pillowy head. Aroma is lemony funk with a hint of acidity and some grain. Taste is lightly tart, funky, and lemony up front, a bit bitter and then finishes a bit sweeter and berry like. Excellent carbonation level, silky feeling refreshing beer. Perfectly balanced.

Ben is off to Europe so this might be some of Enlightenment's last offerings. This American wild saison is awesome. It's light on the tartness, great brett quality, dry. It's a perfect beer to share on a hot sunny day. I love it.
