We’re excited to present the ninth beer in our journey exploring and discovering the delights of various hop varieties, combinations, and their respective interplay with ingredients and brewing approaches. Nine strongly features the Mosaic, a hop that has quickly gained notoriety in the brewing community for its appealing properties. This is only our second time brewing with Mosaic, and man, are we blown away by it. We taste and smell one of the most potent melanges of tropical fruit of any beer we’ve brewed! There’s mango, papaya, guava, juicy fruit…. dank citrus… ? ...all tied together by a velvety soft and dry malt backbone. A fun beer all around, and one that we say is the most distinct Curiosity to date!

Pint can in a stemmed IPA glass, canned on 8/3/22.

Standard TH look, hazy golden orange color. White cap, 1f, shotgun spray lacing.

Aromas are soft which is common to Mosaic hop laced brews. Tropical fruit mix includes mango, some lime citrus, and a little bit of berry. Clean and dry, no alcohol.

Tropical fruit juice flavor mix. Strong citrus hop presence. Dry light malt.

Low side of medium bodied with a tart tang and hop bitterness that give way to a dry finish.

I could see this beer as a love/hate drinker. This take is leaning strongly to the positive side. The 7% abv works for me.

Poured from a can purchased 8/11/22. Can date 8/3/22.

L- Hazy golden orange.

S- Lush, ripe orange passion fruit.

T- Slight tartness with some hop bite. Nice
juicy flavor.

F- A little “thin” but fairly nice with some
bitey-ness.

O- I really like this. Not the usual “juice “
fest nor hoppy bomb from Treehouse.
Not that their’s are bad, but this is a
perfect balance!

Pours a hazy golden with white head, good retention. Berry and cantaloupe on the nose. There isn't a lot of sweetness on the nose, it smells like it is well attenuated. There's sugar cane and honey dew melon that permeate up front but it gives way to a vegetal character. While not to the point of being hop burn, it is off putting in the way that the flavor of celery is off putting (not saying the vegetal character tastes like celery). It's not even that mosaic barkiness. Maybe it's more minty? It's not great.

Thanks to JLindros for sharing.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice hazy orange hue with a one finger head that faded to leave a thin blanket and light halo. Not much lacing

S - Aromas of tangerine galore and Clementine orange, faint grapefruit. Stupid amount of tangerine! Super potent. Alcohol hidden as well.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, bright dank tangerine flesh and peel. Super wet, light candy orange taste from a little malt sweetness. The grapefruit is more restrained. Light alcohol, good citrus peel and pith. Very tasty, ferocious, citrus.

M - Mouthfeel is very nice, lightly creamy. Alcohol hidden nicely. Great.

O - Overall this beer was really really nice tangerine here. Just very well crafted yet again, delicious!
