We’re excited to release the latest edition of our favorite stout with a tremendous coffee roasted by Heart Coffee Roasters - Colombia La Primavera. This lot is absolutely gorgeous, with rich flavors of chocolate and winter spice balanced by a tangy acidity. As it warms it reveals complexity, offering notes of chocolate covered espresso beans, dark caramel, and brown sugar. A soft and distinct bean for sure! A luscious, sweet, and less roasty base beer contributes the ideal backdrop to this bold and vibrant treat for the coffee and beer lover alike! This series continues to be a joy for us to brew, and - we hope - for you to enjoy!

Growler filled 8 days ago. Have had Good Morning a bunch but never any of the Double Shots somehow.

A- Four pint glasses fill with a midnight black body from the 750ml. A mocha brown cap with frothy consistency builds up to a finger with pretty good retention. Large ring and pillows left behind and the glass gets long webs and wide sheets of lacing.

S- Coffee exemplified above a deep, big roasty malt base. Medium earthy roast coffee character followed by notes of cocoa, burnt grains and toasted nuts; coffee is king though.

T- Coffee attributes gain complexity for me here and I generally feel the same way with the actual beverage itself. Medium dark roast, earthy and dark nutty fruity coffee bean notes. Bitter dark chocolate, almond, caramel, mocha, medium sweets, toffee and bitter charred malt notes.

MF- Thick bodied with a creamy and chewy overall texture. Slightly slick and carbonation falls at a medium level. Coffee and burnt bitter finish.

Massive coffee but with each sip the base comes around and provides great malt flavors. I like how the base really amplifies the beans and allows the coffee complexity to come out.

Glad I was able to snag a couple growlers of this, the last keg too, shared with rudzud.

Big creamy thick frothy head fades pretty slowly from 1 finger, big messy lacing, pitch black, no light cooking through.

Nose it's loaded with coffee, big fresh nutty coffee, buttery coffee beans and earthy notes, fresh grinds, big fudgey, choc cocoa and dark malts, mild fruitiness from the coffee bean, little milk choc and cocoa powder.

Taste is rich and creamy, loaded with coffee again, fresh roasted coffee, mild fruity coffee beans, quite nutty again, little chunky Peanutbutter, thick chewy coffee, fudgey cocoa and dark chocolate, little creamy milk choc too, nice bitter cocoa. Nice earthy mild nutty fruity fresh brewed coffee, etc. Finish is a little sticky but dry, thick fudgey cocoa, nice bitterness, more nutty coffee lingering.

Mouth is full bod, thick fudgey creamy with nice carb.

Overall amazing, probably the best double shot yet.

Big thanks to JLindros for sharing.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice really almost black hue with a good two finger mocha head that fades to leave nice lacing and thin wisps.

S - Aromas of very fruity coffee, great nuts, dark chocolate, rich bakers notes, very nice rich robust aroma, rich mocha notes, really bright. Quite nice.

T - Taste is quite lovely, rich chocolate nice and dark is balanced gloriously with the rich coffee beans. Really roasty and dark with a great fruity nuttiness. Lightly creamy coffee. Just an excellent balance of coffee and dark chocolate. Rich rich mocha.

M - Mouthfeel is really nice, creamy, alcohol hidden well.

O - Overall this beer was possibly the best coffee variant of double shot I've had. Wonderful coffee notes, super rich and clean. Really luxurious coffee notes here. Incredible.

Growler was poured into a nonic glass.

Appearance: A one finger mocha head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Nice roasted coffee, milk chocolate, molasses, caramel, earthy, and slight smoke.

Taste: Awesome roasted Columbian espresso flavor with milk chocolate, caramel, char, and coffee bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Silky smooth, creamy, medium to full bodied, espresso bitterness, slight acidity, and low to medium carbonation.

Overall: I will have to say the quality of the coffee is what makes the beer. The beer was good, but the coffee made it better. Looking forward to the next installment of Double Shot.

Pours one shade shy of black with a loose, mocha-colored head. Nose expresses cold-brewed coffee and a hint of lactose. Taste consistent with nose with the addition of caramelized raw sugar in the mix. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body, albeit a bit thin, with an even carbonation. Overall, an excellent American Stout - quite rich and almost on par with an RIS.
