With all this lovely room for activities in our new brewery it's time to start having a little fun. The richness of triple shot was the perfect candidate for blending with our barrel aged stout, Truth. Truth has been resting comfortably for nearly a year in Elmer T. Lee barrels, coalescing in a beer loaded with rich dark fruit and bourbony vanilla flavors. After much deliberation and ensuing tipsiness, the resulting blend is 74%: Triple Shot and 26% Truth. We find it to be delicious, full of depth, and incredibly exciting - a small glimpse into a Tree House that finally had access to creative freedom we have desired since our inception.

Poured from a 750ml growler into a Treehouse teku.
Appearance: It's about as black as a beer can get. Very small mocha-colored head, with only small bubbles at the top that dissipated relatively quickly. Slow, sparse carbonation, with intermittent lacing throughout.
Aroma: Really, really appeasing. The malt aromas that come through start with chocolate fudge and vanilla and shift to a sweet, caramelly bourbon-tinged scent. Desserty and decadent.
Taste: Follows the aroma-starts with an extremely powerful chocolate-coffee burst, and is followed by bourbon heat and vanilla. Very rich, tastes almost like melted chocolate fudge mixed in with a dash of bourbon.
Feel: Medium astringency, with the bourbon-vanilla flavor lingering on the palate. Remains partially carbonated in the mouth, but dissipates quickly.
Overall: A delicious, decadent brew. I didn't like it quite as much as Triple Shot without the blend (thought it could have been a touch more carbonated, and the bourbon slightly more subtle), but it's a beer that I would love to have for any special occasion. It's an indulgence in flavor and aroma.

The beer smells of cacao, chunky chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and fudge.
The flavor continues with coffee, caramel, sweet fudge, then onto a mid-palate of vanilla and bourbon heat and sweetness. Then onto some coffee bitterness and dark chocolate.
The beer does everything Triple Shot does, but with even more soft balance and complexity. The blended of the beer offers a touch of bourbon complexity and an even more full palate experience.

Hour old growler poured into Tree House glassware. Big, bold, semi-sweet. Huge coffee nose. Coffee forward with hints of chocolate and traces of the Barrel from Truth. Finished a tad dry with no lingering bitterness. One heck of a stout. Another malty winner from Tree House.
