Overall this was a good BBA stout, but I couldn't help but be letdown just a little bit. Still fantastic by itself, but considering how much I love Double Shot, Good Morning, etc., I expected something just a bit more epic.

Sampled at EBF. Somehow never reviewed this before.
(from memory)
I remember this beer as jet black with amazing smell, light bourbon and dark malts. Chocolate on back end.
Beer (as recommended) improved as it warmed up. Mouthfeel a little light for a bourbon barrel stout, but enjoyable none the less.
Would love to try it again though.

Tap at anniversary party
Decent creamy head, thick syrupy pitch black long legs, looks like black Tuesday
Nose tons of bourbon, little alcohol, vanilla toasted oak, whisky and dark choc, little fudge, chocolate pudding, touch coffee, little boozy kahlua.
Taste big rich dark choc, fudgey cocoa, into thick fudge cocoa, chocolate syrup, boozy kahlua, plenty of bourbon, whisky, toasted oak barrel, some earthy spicy hop especially late, more earthy coffee and nutty flavors, little roast. Finish spicy earthy hop, chewy cocoa and choc syrup, whisky and booze tingle.
Mouth is fillet thick syrupy, decent carb, plenty of whisky booze.
Overall not bad, so much bourbon at first seems nice then turns into a booze bomb.

Enjoyed at the Armsby Abbey Stout fest breakfast.
A - Poured into a standard tulip a nice dark black hue with a thin head that fades to leave light wisps.
S - Aromas of nice rich bourbon, chocolate, light vanilla. Nice barrel notes.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, loads of bourbon juice, nice sweeter bourbon, good chocolate characteristics. Faint oak, nice light roast, alcohol hidden well.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, creamy, alcohol hidden well.
O - Overall this was a solid beer, the lengthier time in barrels was nice, however, I liked regular Truth much much more.

Old review from EBF.
This one pours a dark deep black, looks almost still, with a tiny head, and no lacing.
Smells quite punishingly boozy, with tons of Buffalo trace, along with some oak, chocolate, and coffee.
This didn't hold a candle to the VB Triple Shot that they brought to the fest as well. It was a bit harsh, even with only a 2 oz pour, there was a ton of bourbon, and a ton of booze. It was still undeniably delicious, with a super deep malt complexity underneath, lots of chocolate and coffee. I would have wished for a bit more roast character, but I believe it was in barrels for about two years so that's probably a pipe dream. There was a good amount of oak, which is always appreciated.
This feels maybe a little bit thin, with an astringent finish that detracts from the experience. The carbonation level is pretty low, as is to be expected after two years in the barrel.
This was definitely tasty, but it was far from the best beer TH brought to EBF. In the same category, VB Triple Shot slayed it. Don't think I didn't enjoy it, though- I definitely did.

Pre-planned first beer choice at EBF. Was wanting to try this since the announced it. Solid BA stout that was very well balanced. Not too boozy and very smooth.
