Traded for this a while ago, even though I can't quite remember who I did it with. I had a few other of the curiosity beers and even though this wasn't on par with those, there was enough to enjoy here that I didn't quite mind how old this was when I finally cracked it open!
Not a bad pour to this but it was one that I'd expect out of a typical American IPA. A bit cloudy, a moderately radiant apricot hue, and plenty of head topped this off as this appeared to be what I'd expect from something hoppy and sticky. Not much lacing left behind either as there were hints of a rocky collar near the top with a few scattered splotches below that. Lots of fruit juice, peach, and apricot in the nose with some more passion fruit underneath that. Lots of dank rind, bubblegum sweetness, bready malt, and spice in the taste as it was a bit different and odd once this fully warmed up. A bit Belgian in taste, this was quite wild and full as it gave me plenty to chew on in more than one way!
Not a lot of booze in this one as the carbonation wasn't terribly light either. A strong feeling of yeast came over me once this went down as the flavors gave way to a funk that was borderline barnyard. Sure, this was old but it held up well as the sediment was minimal and there was still plenty to enjoy, even if this needed a chaser of water at the end. Love this beers from Tree House and how different they are from each other, even as they hold my curiosity from start to finish!

My first of the Curiosity series and it definitely didn't disappoint. I definitely need to try more in this series to be able to compare!

Big thanks to rudzud, canned 04/07
Pours a huge frothy creamy 1.5 finger head that fades slowly, lots of sticky lacing, murky bright orange color.
Nose a little candied orange, apricot stone fruit, tangerine, peach, etc, good aromas but on the lighter side, sweet creamy malt oat and wheat, orange cream, hint of tropical, mango notes.
Taste starts with creamy malt, oats, big creamy oats and sweet malt, into herbal floral leafy hop, tropical notes, citrus, orange zest and candied orange cream, mango juice, touch stone fruit apricot, lots of tangerine and generic orange like citrus, a hint of pineapple. Finish dry, a hint of booze, some pith and orange cream, tangerine zest, etc.
Mouth is med bod, very creamy, fluffy carb.
Overall not bad, but not quite up to the typical Tree House standard, although likely the month on it made it a little less of what it used to be.
