For this rendition of Hold On To Sunshine, we added a small amount of cocoa dusted truffles to amplify the cocoa fudge characteristics of the base beer. It has all the delicious flavors you are accustomed to - rich milk chocolate, dark brown sugar, creamy espresso, and chocolate covered peanut butter cups - with an extra layer of chocolate complexity. It is never overtly saccharin, with a firm coffee acidity balancing things out, making it enjoyable to drink as it warms. A fun experiment and one we are pleased to share with you as we welcome September!

Sampled at the brewery.
Pours a slightly reddish black with a thin head.
Smell dominated by roasted malts.
Nice smooth mouth feel.
Taste of roasted malt backed up with chocolate and maybe biscuit.
Good, but not as great as the others I had today.

On tap in Tewksbury. Peanuts are more pronounced than the canned version but the truffles are lost in the already massive chocolate fudge character.

Had on tap at Charlton. Pours opaque, dark brown in color with one quarter inch head. Smells like French Toast. Taste is big milk and sweet chocolate, cream, and peanut butter. Medium body, low carbonation, sweet. Best beer I have had today. Sweet but not cloying, almost like the best peanut butter cup ever. Delicious...one of their best variations of a great beer.
