For this rendition of Double Shot, we added ever so lightly roasted marshmallows to give a campfire and smore-like appeal to our classic coffee stout. The smell is familiar and intoxicating, featuring notes of fresh roasted coffee, marshmallow, graham cracker, and chocolate. This is a cold weather treat not to be missed!

Had a single draft at the Tree House Brewery in Charlton for eight dollars. My sixty fifth brew from these guys. ABV @ brewery is listed @ 8.3%. No stouts in cans today, so wanted to try something different. This is very nice.

On tap at the brewery. Absolutely exquisite! Marshmallow really comes out as it warms. Rich chocolate and silky coffee up front with graham cracker and toasted marshmallow finish.

L - dat fluff. Motor oil black with a head that looks like caramel cheesecake.

S - brown sugar and molasses. Not the mallow I was expecting, but hits every other disgustingly sweet and cloying note. Coffee, whipped cream, and chocolate cake.

T - bright and nutty. Graham crackers dipped in coffee with two creams. Overarching sweetness a la Fluff. Refreshingly so, it avoids any overly sweet stickiness. Vanilla ice cream on the finish.

F - gentle like a dream. Soft and supple as usual, albeit a bit thinner than other DSs, especially at this ABV.

O - I was expected campfires and toasted marshmallows, and instead I got Fluff sandwiches! Not a bad thing! Brighter and easier drinking than anticipated. Tame sweetness balanced by coffee roast.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery today.

A - Poured into a standard tulip a nice dark black hue with a great one finger mocha head that fades to leave light lacing and a real nice thin blanket. Very nice legs.

S - Aromas of nice dark chocolate, little bit of coffee beans and roast. Big marshmallow sweetness throughout that is quite pleasant.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice almost sticky sweet marshmallow. Almost fluffy. Good dark chocolate, almost chalky. The coffee is pleasant, good roast, finish is a little acrid though. Sweetness lingers.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, creamy, little fluffy. Alcohol hidden wonderfully.

O - Overall this was a very solid imperial stout variant from Tree House. The sweetness of the marshmallow plays off it well. Almost vanilla ice cream like.
