To commemorate the 1000th batch brewed in Charlton, a momentous occasion that wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated attention and care of everyone here at Tree House, we decided to brew a batch of Triple shot fit for the occasion! Triple Shot, Batch 1000, is purposefully brewed to be extremely decadent and richly flavored, balancing intense and syrupy coffee notes with a milk chocolate-like base. In conjunction with our friends at Gracenote Coffee, we selected a Colombian coffee known for its dark and mysterious flavor profile. Fleeting notes of dark chocolate, crème brûlée, and maple syrup entice the palate while a chocolatey coffee impression lingers on the palate. What a treat! Triple Shot - Batch 1000 is a celebratory beer, and one that asks to be shared and enjoyed with friends and family during the holiday season.

Pours one shade shy of black with a tight band around the shoulders. Nose expresses sweet notes (perhaps milk sugar), cocoa and coffee. Taste consistent with nose. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a carbonation shy of lively. Overall, a decent offering but not a game changer for me.

L - 1-finger mocha head is slow to recede. Tar-black body.
S - molasses, caramel, coffee, milk chocolate, hazelnut.
T - tons of really good coffee, doused in high-end chocolate. Vanilla, caramel. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium- full body with low carb.
O - decadent.

L - pours that deep, dark paint brown we all know and love. Used motor oil would be an understatement. Dark, burnt two-tone head fluctuating between a lighter milk tan and darker crimson when agitated.
S - smells like old school Double Shot... and then some. Bright and fruity, lime and citrus. Burnt popcorn, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream.
T - beautiful blend of dark and milk chocolate. Alternates between fluffy chocolate pudding and bittersweet baking chocolate. Burnt, roasted beans with some serious toasty depth. Deceptive, because up front we've got straight chocolate cream viscosity, then the back opens up to acidic coffee grounds mixed with your occasional dark fruit and nutmeg spices. Finish is sweeter than expected, leaving those sugary lip crusties behind.
F - Double Shot can sometimes fall short on the heft I'm looking for in a mouthfeel. Fortunately, we have Triple Shot to deliver all the flavor of DS, but with added body. The creaminess on this beer is unreal. Almost suffocating. Getting a good jaw workout trying to swish this through my teeth.
O - amped up DS for sure. Rich and decadent with high amplitude, bouncing back and forth between cloying and burnt roast. Does the dark Colombian bean justice while delivering a sweet, sticky treat that you'll struggle to put back in one sitting.

Lucky enough to get 3 bottles thanks to friends that don't drink stouts. Tried the first one right away and it was delicious...very smooth. The coffee notes are delicately placed between silky smooth milk chocolate. Absolutely amazing.
