This batch of Double Shot features a distinctive coffee from the Torres Family in Costa Rica! Side by side with Hair Bender, we find Torres Family to be significantly more intense, with dark notes of bakers chocolate, cacao nibs, sweet butter cookies, and dark roasted espresso beans. A fluffy mouthfeel adds heft to the flavors, making this beer super enjoyable to sip as its allowed to warm in the glass. This is a coffee lover's true delight - we invite you to enjoy it as the finish to a hearty meal! Enjoy!

Deep dark brown with cappuccino head that settles slowly into floating central island and collar.
Roasty and rich coffee with bittersweet baking chocolate.

L - pours a rich, thick, jet black murk with an illusory color-shifting head. Darkish mocha on the inside between bubbles and lighter tan on the fringes.
S - milk chocolate and Hostess cake. Fresh and inviting. Iced coffee and coffee ice cream. Vaguely nutty, perhaps walnuts or almonds. Maybe even pecans. On the end we've got brown sugar and maple candy.
T - sweet and vibrant. Almond milk and cool whip. Mexican hot chocolate? Guilty pleasure coffee with all the fixins. Whipped cream-topped chocolate pudding pie. And yes, definitely butter cookies. There was something sweet I couldn't put my finger on, but after reading the description, I'm thrust into vivid nostalgia of those Royal Dansk blue tin cookies. Finishes with pure chocolate syrup bite and satisfying whole milk coffee creamer heft.
F - marshmallowy. Not overly thick and cloying, but light on its feet, yet features an almost suffocating creaminess.
O - it might just be that I haven't had Double Shot in a while, but this is blowing my mind. One of the best Double Shots to date. Less emphasis on the coffee bean itself I think, despite what Nate might have to say, and more focus on the extras. Marshmallow fluff, milk chocolate, and butter dominate. But who knows, that might just be the flavor of this bean? Either way, it's delicious and I regret that this is my last bottle.

No legible date (Consumed Sep-10)
A:
Pours a crazy-thick pitch black with a nice puffy, swirled brown/tan head that lasts and leaves confetti lacing. (4.25)
S:
Shot of espresso mixed with sweetened condensed milk. Really nutty, roasty, lightly caramelized sugar, vanilla, plain coffee beans. (4.5)
T:
Follows the aroma. Strong black coffee with whipping cream and maple syrup, a hint of cinnammon-like zip, walnuts, liquid milk chocolate. (4.5)
M:
Velvety, super-sweet but neither cloying nor sticky, light carbonation, lingering mellow roast rumble. (4.5)
O:
As with the other variants I've had, this is very, very good. Decadent and rich without wearing you out completely (still intense, though).
It definitely looks and drinks like the other versions I've had (black velvet—not the terrible whiskey though). The aroma and flavor come through as more coffee-filled I think though. Not harsh at all though. Rich, round, nutty, slightly burnt-sweet coffee and milk chocolate dominate. Also has that Dr. Pepper liqueur quality that I picked up in the last one I have and now it is definitely there in this one. I mean it as the highest compliment, though, for you Dr. P haters out there. It's just flat fucking good. (4.5)
