Punch is an American IPA brewed with a copious dose of oats and straight up, carefully selected Australian Galaxy hops.

It is brewed to convey expressive hop flavors in a way that is juicy and refreshing to your palate, without abrasive or harsh flavors.

We taste notes of ripe pineapple, juicy citrus, peach, lime, and passion fruit. Fresh. Well made. Delicious!

Canned 9/6/22. “Kick“ stamped on the bottom of the can

This might be the first Galaxy-only beer I’ve had from this recent “good harvest” year. I know it went through a rough period, but I’m hearing the latest ones are back on par with the ones from a few years ago. I guess if I’m trusting anyone to show me what Galaxy is all about then it should be Tree House, am I right? Let’s dive in

Pours a cloudy pale gold with 3 fingers of creamy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves nice lacing

The nose is certainly hop forward, but there’s a nice underlying sweetness likely coming from the oats. I’m picking up on aromas of bready malt, pineapple juice, brown sugar, lime zest, grassy hops, peach ring, and light cantaloupe

The nice balance carries through in taste, though the distinct malt sweetness from the nose is absent. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting bready malt, overripe cantaloupe, lime zest, herbal hops, orange juice, light pineapple, white tea, and a touch of gooseberry. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, herbal hops, line zest, white tea, caramel malt, pithy grapefruit, and light pineapple

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a sharp and zesty beer. Finishes a tad sticky but the bitterness keeps it from being too sticky

This is damn solid stuff. Certainly a different move for Tree House, and not exactly the tropical Galaxy bomb I was expecting, but very enjoyable

From a 16oz can, dated 09/06/22. Kick. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.

Pours a hazy-opaque pale pineapple-gold with two fingers of super-soft, lush and luxurious lathery foam. Retention is epic, leaving a thick sudsy cap and a solid curtain of foamy lacing. You can almost just look at this and think ‘oats’ and ‘Galaxy.’ Seriously.

Aroma is mildly sweet and bready. Earthy pineapple rind with a top note of sweet maraschino cherry.

Taste is totally in accord with the nose: yeasty bread roll, underripe, earthy pineapple rind bitterness, and a little pop of tangerine and cherry sweetness. Tasting guava, lime, and oily orange peel. There’s a little onion note that wanders in and out of focus - unusual and unexpected in a Galaxy hopped IPA, right? Finishes with a bit of a sour pineapple juice aftertaste.

Feel is juicy, a shade less than medium bodied with fine, zesty carbonation making it feel even lighter. The oats are all in the foamy head, I guess, because I’m not particularly noticing them in the mouthfeel.

Overall, excellent stuff. I’m a total slut for any IPA brewed with oats and, for that matter, Galaxy so, inasmuch as this was likely to be a peanut butter and chocolate moment for me, I might have been just a little let down. But really just a little. [Other Half would have put some lactose in here and even though, in principle, I might disapprove of that, I think it would have worked]. The can description promises ‘juicy and refreshing’ without ‘abrasive and harsh’ and I’m not sure that’s quite right because there was a distinctly rindy, earthy, bitter edge.

Probably one of my least favorite TH beers.
That’s kind of a funny statement because it’s still good.
Missing that classic TH yeast taste. Pours a little thin and it’s all galaxy. So maybe not as balanced.
Nice dry finish and good carb.

Fantastic New England style IPA from the amazing Tree House. 7/7/20 printed on can. Just a wonderful hazy, juicy, soft IPA that is exactly what this brewery is known for. Pours a hazy yellow color with lots of fluffy white head and glorious sticky sheets of lingering lacing that persisted throughout. Huge aromas of pineapple, bitter grapefruit, lemon, orange, mango and papaya. Also some creamy vanilla, bread, malt, lighter floral and herbal hops. Taste follows the nose, extremely well balanced and juicy. Great flavor and depth. Smooth, sticky, nice soft mouthfeel with just the perfect amount of carbonation. Another winner from Tree House!
