Brewed with honey and raw wheat, August Moon is a mixed fermentation ale that utilizes our native culture. After resting in oak for six months, August Moon spent an extended period of time evolving and conditioning in the bottle resulting in a beer of harmony, complexity, and intrigue. It tastes of ripe pineapple, lemon yogurt, and straw with a complex brettanomyces character. This one is special - enjoy! Only 200 bottles of this are available.

16oz. capped bottle into a Founders snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Pours a clear light copper. Coarse head with little retention. Surprisingly oily legs though. Nose is citrus, clementine, straw, wet wood, and a light funkiness. Beer opens like watered-down orange juice. Some citrus rind in there as well as hints of coriander, peppercorn, and a light tartness towards the end. I get more orange, grapefruit, and pomelo in the finish and aftertaste. Body is light with ample carbonation. Foamy and prickly on the palate and goes down accented and dry with a long, lingering finish.
Body and feel are great while everything else is kinda just average.

Small head (expected), but retention and liveliness are excellent.
Nose is incredible! A deep, complex blend of funky, fruity, and slightly sour notes. Honey, hay, straw, wheat; must and Brett-like funk, cheese, oak; apple, pear, lemon.
Similar on the palate. Slightly sharp and tannic, moderately funky. Drinks like a wild saison. Flavors are similar to the nose, plus tea and white grapes. Moderately dry finish.
