Spacetime Continuum is an imperial stout blended with 30% barrel-aged Space & Time. The base beer is custom and crafted specifically with a blend in mind to achieve a finished beer that achieves balance and supreme drinkability. The intent is to put forth a beer with all of the lovely characteristics of a purely barrel-aged beer, but without excessive harshness or booziness - we find Spacetime Continuum to achieve just that.
The threads of barreled beer were aged 18 months, lending a soft vanilla, bourbon and oak character to a rich and pleasing base beer. Spacetime Continuum pours an oily black in the glass and emits flavors and aroma of dark chocolate wafer cookies, bourbon-soaked vanilla, roasted malts and dried dark fruit. As it warms it reveals increasing layers of complexity and intrigue! This beer will keep well when refrigerated for two years or more. Savor it now and tuck one away to see how it further evolves in the bottle!

12 oz. bottle. Black. Smells of roasted malt, some nutty malts, faint bourbon. Tastes of light bourbon, roasted malt, bitter black malt, some lingering sweetness. Some dark fruits in the finish. Heavy and boozy. A touch too sweet, but otherwise a nice stout.

Drank from a 12 oz. bottle purchased at Tree House Brewing Company, Charlton, MA
Served in a tulip
The viscous, dark brown/black body was topped by a small, cappuccino colored film that quickly dropped to a thin collar. There was no lacing whatsoever. The liquid appeared significantly darker and oilier in the glass.
The aroma was very solid and definitely displayed prominent old-school imperial stout-like characteristics. Big dark malt presence. Roasted malts were most apparent. Bit of caramel malt character too. Dark fruits also came through strong. Plums and raisins specifically. Good dose of sweetness. Moscavado sugar or brown sugar perhaps. Subtle vanilla notes appeared as the beer warmed. Hint of bourbon and dark chocolate. The sweetness intensified later.
The flavor profile was basically a slightly amped up version of the aroma. Super malty and robust. Nice melding of roasted and caramel malt notes. Brown sugar was also apparent. Sweet but appropriately so for the style. Well balanced overall. Dark fruits appeared in the center. Raisins and prunes came to mind. Loads of sweet vanilla too. Brown sugar was also noticeable. Subtle bourbon notes appeared on the back end and the finish.
Excellent rich, creamy, full bodied mouthfeel. Fairly dense on the palate. The beer contained a fine, subtle effervescence that worked perfectly for the style. After a few sips, the liquid deposited a sticky film on my lips.
Most highly regarded stouts these days are loaded with adjuncts and/or undergo significant barrel treatments, but Spacetime Continuun impressed without any hoopla or fanfare. This is a classic imperial stout in every sense and one that I would certainly seek out again.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small foamy head, and not much lacing.
This smells like vanilla truffles, cookie dough, clean roasted malt, dark cherry, bourbon, and chocolate chip cookies.
This is absolutely a delight. It's blended extremely well, as there's bourbon sweetness and bourbon vanilla just on the back end, without the booziness that sometimes accompanies barrel-aging. I don't usually like partial-barrel-aged stouts as much as their fully barrel aged counterparts, but it really does work here. There's a good amount of vanilla for a beer that doesn't have vanilla added. There's also coconut and cookie dough, oak, brownies, and some light dark fruit. I really like this.
This is medium bodied, with a soft and creamy mouthfeel to it. There's really no booziness here.
This is one of the best Tree House beers I've ever had. It's bold yet subtle all at the same time. It's really well blended, and makes me really want to try some of their other new BA beers.

Bottle courtesy of yllib. Very sweet toffee vibes. Almost tastes like a barleywine.
