This wonderful set of beers celebrates the holiday season with joy in our hearts and with hope for the future.

The artwork, by our friend John Gilman, so beautifully captures the spirit of warmth and family that comes with the season of giving.

Featuring the basics of white birthday cake with frosting - powdered sugar and vanilla - and a hint of coffee, Giving tastes like your favorite all-American confection; Birthday Cake (with a good bit of chocolate)!

We hope it can contribute positively to your celebrations this winter - Enjoy!

Brew: Tree House Brewing Company – Giving

Intro: 16 oz. can poured into a tulip glass. Shared with a friend.

Appearance: Pitch black, Nominal head maybe 1.5 inches. Good lacing as I drank

Smell: Cocoa, Vanilla, and a hint of mixed spices.

Taste: Follows the smell. Milk and chocolate headline.

Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel, good carbonation. Creamy milky lactose feel

Drink: Easy drinker. A real treat, well balanced and went down smooth.

Conclusion: Another fine offering from Tree House milk stouts line. Never had a bad one and this is no exception.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a snifter glass; canned on 12/10/20, code PARTY LIKE IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY.
A: Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a less one finger, medium brown head, barely rim retention, and minimal lacing.
S: Aromas of sarsaparilla, milk chocolate, vanilla and cola (late).
T: Very sweet with lactose unquestionably an outsized element. IFlavors largely reflective of the nose with heavy chocolate and vanilla component, as well as cola and walnut. Bitterness sufficient to keep the sweetness from becoming cloying.
M: Full bodied with moderate effervescence.
O: Another chocolate and vanilla milk stout; essentially a fountain drink with alcohol.

L - finally, the last of the Christmas stouts! Pours a thick, impenetrable brown with decent head mocha head retention.

S - holiday spices and potpourri. Peppermint, molasses, and milk chocolate. Frozen eclairs.

T - boston cream donuts and hazelnut espresso. Allspice, a hint of cinnamon on the finish, and sugary vanilla sweetness. I can see why "cake frosting" is in the description. Sweet, but delicately balanced by coffee ground roastiness. Still leaves the lips sticky and dry, though.

F - decadent is an understatement. Feels like marshmallow fluff on the lips and stays thiqq throughout. Almost like drinking a milkshake.

O - on the lighter side of the 4 stouts. This one is spice-heavy and energetic with a lot of sweet flavors. Like drinking Christmas-flavored chocolate Fluff.

Canned 12/10/20, tasted 2/11/21. Nice black and tan appearance, with slow-rising and lingering foam. The smell wasn't incredible, but the taste was excellent. Well balanced between roasty bitterness and chocolatey sweetness. The mouthfeel was very pleasant but not extraordinarily creamy.

A: Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, caramel, and some dark chocolate

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a mix of roasted malt, cocoa, and vanilla. Picks up some caramel, dark chocolate, and powdered sugar. Finishes with lingering roast, cocoa, and caramel

M: Medium-full bodied with low-moderate carbonation. Fairly smooth

O: Yet another great holiday time-themed milk stout from TH. Makes for a nice sipper. As always, worth checking out

Poured from a 16 oz can

Look: Dark brown with a tan head
Smell: Dark chocolate and coffee roasty notes with a hint of sweetness
Taste: The vanilla comes though more on the front and then the roasty notes take over. Chocolate flavors on the back.
Feel: Perfect consistency for an imperial stout, not too think or think. Definitely a decadent beer.
Overall: A delicious beer, good balance of sweetness and roasted flavors. It's a decadent beer, but it's a good one.

I felt like the Tree House imperial milk stouts in winter 2019-20 were just overly sweet, almost cloyingly so at times. This year it seems as though that has been dialed way back, plus they have more of a roasty character. Excellent brew!
