Steadfast is a barrel-blended imperial stout. A thoughtful blending session found the best expression of this beer: a blend of 42% barrel-aged chocolate stout blended with 58% fresh stout. The blend was then conditioned upon heaps of cacao and a kiss of house-roasted coffee. The finished beer has an incredible depth of complexity featuring notes of chocolate-covered bourbon candies, chewy chocolate caramel, and Oaky vanilla cream.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass; 2021 release.
A: Pours an essentially black color with about minimal, medium brown head, minimal rim retention, and no lacing of which to speak.
S: Aromas of Hershey's chocolate, vanilla, Southern Comfort, caramel, cranberry, and dark roasted coffee.
T: Sweet. Flavors follow the nose and work together well on the palate. Bitterness solid and provides strong counterpoise to the sweetness and flavor elements.
M: Full bodied with low effervescence.
O: A friend (Thanks, Alex!) picked this up on a Tree House run. Hits all the right BBA chocolate adulterated stout notes. I am "un afficianado" of stouts, but lean much more heavily to Dublin/Foreign Extra. As far as this style goes, well executed: would expect nothing less from TH.

L: Poured into a glass of indeterminate classification. Head was quite thick and dissipated at a moderate rate. Glass was tinted so color was not noted beyond 'dark'.
S: The aroma was nice and fairly typical for a barrel aged stout.
T: Heavy chocolate and bourbon/barrel. The description notes coffee but that escaped my taste buds. As it warmed the chocolate seemed to be less pronounced. Clean finish with no real aftertaste.
F: As thick as anything I can remember. On the creamy, rather than syrupy or oily, side.
O: I liked it. I would happily drink this again, though I probably would not seek it out as it not my favorite from Tree House. The ABV on this is not listed, but I would guess this is comfortably above 10 and 14-16% would not surprise me.

Pours a very small fizzy head with almost no retention, very little lacing, pitch black inky thick beer that stains the glass with long legs
Nose is very sweet marshmallowy, lots of vanilla, vanilla candy with vanilla barrel and oak, cocoa nibs and fudge, into mild roast and a bit of coffee, very fudgey, some butterscotch and toffee notes, caramel candy like the buttery ones my grandmother used to give me
Taste brings lots of dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, into more candy, caramel, butterscotch, again those caramel cream candies that my grandmother used to have, with marshmallow as well, thick heavy fudge, lots of vanilla again as well as some vanilla barrel oak, a bit of bitterness with some roast and a little roasted coffee, a touch of alcohol, late brings thick cocoa nibs and fudgey cocoa, with more vanilla
Mouth is full bod, rich chewy, thick, light warming alcohol, light carb
Overall pretty good, definite candy bar stout, decent but not too enjoyable, quite sweet, not enough barrel, basically just a candy bar

A: Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap
S: Roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, oak, and a touch of toffee
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malt, chocolate, and bourbon. Picks up some coffee, vanilla, caramel, oak, and toffee. Moderately boozy. Finishes with lingering roast, bourbon, and chocolate
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A bit chewy
O: A very good blended BBA stout that makes for a great sipper. Nicely balanced with good barrel influence. Worth checking out
