Double Shot Gold is an American stout infused with a blend of our favorite recent roasts from the Tree House Coffee Program.
Featuring coffees from Peru, Colombia, and Ethiopia, it puts forth a complex blend of flavors featuring chocolate-covered cherry, caramel frosting, toasted hazelnut, and molten toffee. Inspired and characterful, Double Shot Gold showcases the heightened potential of purposeful intent applied from grain to glass in the beer-making process.

16 oz, can dated April, 2021. Poured into Aslin tulip glass and allowed to warm.
L: 1F or so light brown foamy head with poor retention. Leaves only a thin ring. Beer is very dark brown.
S: Coffee, roasted hazelnuts, cherry cordials, roasted malts.
T: Unsweetened coffee, with a creamy but not-dairy character, cherry cordials and almonds/hazelnuts. Definite roastiness. Neutral finish.
F: Full bodied, little to no carbonation. Well-constructed coffee stout cleverly balancing different coffees, but like blended scotch the ceiling for flavor is necessarily lowered. Wisely not sweetened.

Just a freakin great stout. I love TH for their IPA’s and try to get their stouts before IPA’s as this is my favorite style. Poured jet black with great lacing nd retention. Lucked out when I ordered and scoped 4 of these. NOT going to share.

A: Pours a pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap
S: Roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, vanilla, caramel, toffee, and some nuttiness
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a mix of roasted malt, coffee, caramel, dark fruit, and vanilla. Picks up the nutty and toffee notes as well as some dark chocolate. Finishes with lingering dark fruit and coffee
M: Full bodied with low-moderate carbonation
O: A very good coffee stout that makes for a great sipper. Well rounded and very well balanced. Definitely worth checking out

16oz. can into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
Fantastic legs on this oily, rich-looking beer but almost no head. Nose is huge aromas of lactose, vanilla, cream, iced coffee, espresso, and chocolate. Certainly one for the coffee lover. Beer opens chocolate, mocha, and iced coffee. A light tartness from the coffee is present in the middle but dissipates quickly and is replaced by layers of vanilla and sweet cream. More chocolate, espresso, and the slight tartness from roasted malt at the finish. Delicious with great complexity. Body is full with low carbonation. The feel doesn't get much better than this one. Smooth and rich on the palate and soft and viscous going down with a longer, lingering, sticky aftertaste.
Really delicious. I can't quite say this one's a standout from the Double Shot but it is damn good!
