Oak-Conditioned German Pils

Following primary fermentation, this carefully managed batch of Trail received a judicious dose of Cascade hops, a legendary American hop. This treatment elevates the flavor profile, presenting with notes of grapefruit rind, dank citrus, and hints of pine atop a crisp and completely crushable base beer. Refined and dutifully executed, Trail - Cascade is certain to quench your thirst.

Pours a large frothy 2 finger head with great retention and fair soapy lacing, semi hazy med golden tan color

Nose grainy sweet pilsner malt, cereal doughy, little grassy, nice fresh grassy fruity slight citrusy hops,

Taste up front with cascade hops, grassy citrusy, a bit generic fruity, quickly into pilsner grainy sweet malt, cereal, bread dough, soft complex lager with possible decoction layers, med light bitterness up front then med on the dry crisp finish, getting a bit higher spicy hop crisp bitterness

Mouth is med bod, med higher frothy prickly carb

Overall good pilsner, cascade hops were there but not as pronounced as I expected but still good

12 oz can into a mug because I'm a grown man and I drink from big cups.

Pours a rather hazy pale gold color with a 2 finger effervescent white head. Has modest retention and leaves a few bits of splotchy lacing.

The Cascade hops dominate the initial whiff of this beer, namely notes of grapefruit, lime and floral spice. There's some nice bready malt notes with flour tortilla chips and grass.

The taste is much of the same: Lots of lime and grapefruit with a fair bit of grass and pine. Tortilla chips, fresh dough, and very light tannic acidity on the finish.

The feel is light bodied with good carbonation. Nicely crisp with a strong, lingering bitterness.

Overall, this is a good German pils. The Cascade gives the beer a more fruity/citrusy character, but unlike Trailbreaker, the oak is buried behind the hops. Still, a nice beer that is probably the tits on draft.
