Double Shot Monochrome is an American Stout made with our best-selling coffee, Monochrome! It is infused with both house-roasted and extracted cold brew and directly steeped on beans, lending to a depth of flavor and potency that is entirely unique in our program. We taste molten chocolate, cocoa powder, dark chocolate truffles, chocolate marshmallow, and chocolate cream all carried by a velvety and incredibly smooth body. This one is a gem - enjoy!

16oz can courtesy of Roguer.
Poured into the Tree House snifter that, like this beer, came in one of Roguer's porch devastating boxes, this was as black as the river Styx, with a modest mocha colored head that had surprising staying power for a 9.2% abv beer. Spotty lace.
I was expecting this to have a big coffee aroma, but it's surprisingly mellow. I probably get as much alcohol as coffee in the scent department. This doesn't seem to be barrel aged at all but the booziness reminds me of rum. The expected coffee aroma does become more prominent after it's warmed up, but still this beer doesn't smell like a "coffee beer" per se.
Very well balanced in the flavor department. The coffee is a bit more prominent, but there are also fudge and some dark fruit notes. The boozy rummy thing is present, but more in the background than I expected from the nose. Very decadent tasting.
Luxuriously full bodied, with a smooth, sticky, velvety mouth feel. Like a dessert.
Wow. I'm not always in the mood for this kind of beer, but it's working out very well today as a post-sweet breakfast beer. It could also work well as a nightcap on a cold night, which is basically every night for the last few weeks. Only problem with hitting this after breakfast is that I'm going to be trying to function normally throughout the day with a 9.2% handicap in my gut! Thanks, Andrew!

From a 16oz can, dated 06/18/21. Served in a tulip.
Pours an opaque mahogany-black with a scant half-finger of chocolate colored, fizzy head. No retention to speak of and a barely rousable, super-slippery sheet of lacing.
A relatively faint nose. Mild aroma of black coffee and chocolate syrup.
Taste is unexpectedly thickly sweet and fudgy. Coffee taste is barely detectable, mostly subsumed under a blanket of chocolate syrup, marshmallow fluff and cherry cola.
Feel is thick and smooth with a creamy-verging-on-syrupy, hefty body. Carbonation is just barely adequate. There’s a comfortable boozy warmth in the gullet (pleasant) and a slippery corn syrup slickness on the palate (less pleasant).
Overall, it is what it is - I know what Tree House stouts are like and I still keep buying them, so that’s totally my fault. If you dig thick, sweet, syrupy stouts, this would probably be a good beer for you. Don’t worry if you don’t care for coffee because you can just barely taste any.

This is amazing. So much decadent richness oozing out of every mouthful. So much mocha. This is a layered, chocolate kaleidoscope first and foremost. The complexity and nuance of the chocolate notes is just stunning. Add a deep layer of robust cold brew that is profoundly flavorful with no bitterness and the result is absolutely stellar. This beer makes my soul happy. Huge thanks to my brother-in-law for the cans!
