Heat Wave is an amplified rendition of Summer, our summer seasonal Double IPA!
Featuring a large hop dose in both the kettle and dry hop, Heat Wave Carries potent notes of sweet citrus, mango nectar, and honey atop a fluffy base. Though more potent with flavor, it remains soft and enjoyable to drink all the way through the glass - the hallmark of Tree House beer.
We invite you to enjoy it as the sun begins to set on Summer, thus welcoming the autumnal transition to cooler evenings and brighter colors. Enjoy!

Milky, tan appearance. Moderate head which lasts. It provides multiple rings of lace as the beer is consumed.
Dank, wet hop aroma. There's some background alcohol to the nose.
The malt, mostly missing in the smell, sets the base up. The carbonation is low and the body is neautral. The hop is not overly bitter and doesn't show up until the swallow along with some subtle alcohol warmth. The aftertaste is more bitter than anything else, but I would describe it as balanced for DIPA.

A: Poured from the can into a Tree House tulip. Body is hazy bright golden, with a solid half-to-1-finger white head.
S: Very nice nose jumps right out of the glass on the pour: sweeter tropical fruit (melon, mango) and ripe peaches come to mind.
T: First impression: it's more bitter on the lingering aftertaste than expected from that sweeter nose. I get oranges and orange peel, along with mango puree, maybe some stone fruit (underripe plums come to mind), and a peppery bite, likely from the higher ABV of a DIPA, at the finish. Then, as noted above, there's a bitterness - maybe piney or grassy? Or pineapple? - that after a few sips seems to go away. Maybe I've gotten used to it and don't notice it as much, or maybe my palate has now been overwhelmed by all the sweeter stuff in the profile.
M: A hint of dry chalkiness makes me consider dropping this one from a 4.5 to a 4.25, but I think it's still got a nice pillowy, creamy feel to it. . . . I'm torn . . . OK, I'm leaving it at 4.25. At least for now.
O: A good DIPA. Flavorful, though the ABV is noted with this one.

From a 16oz can dated 7/10/24 into a pint glass. Can message: Stay Cool.
Pours a thick opaque yellowish orange with about one finger of white head. Excellent retention and lacing.
Crack of the can yields a noseful of powerful citrus giving way to some fresh cut grass. Some time in the glass and there's some mango and melon.
Definitely getting the juice, but it's brief and in the front part of the sip-citrus, mango, melon. This is followed by a much longer bitter, grassy, piney note.
All that flavor and still a soft mouthfeel. Full-bodied. Dry, bitter aftertaste.
Amazing brew, that I'm drinking waaaaay too fast.

a: creamy matte gold and orange with a 2 finger rocky off-white head
s: tangerines, pineapple, passionfruit, and orange zest up front. very juice punch to the nose. orange juice, guava, and a huge strawberry kiwi note. a touch of sweetness along with some underripe mango. very pungent aroma
t: huge hit of mango, nectarines, cantaloupe and honeydew upfront. absolute classic Tree House flavor right from the start. orange juice and some sweet pineapple juice with peach cobbler. a touch of honey crackers at the end
m: creamy, fluffy medium mouthfeel with low carbonation
o: absolutely fantastic beer. this beer hits everything i think a classic Tree House beer does. tropical and in your face, yet balanced and highlyyyy drinkable given the abv. also, this is a fantastic example of what i think a NEDIPA should be, if the category were to exist

@WunderLlama sent this my way as part of NBS BIF #16.
First off, this doesnt' impact my impression of the beer itself, but I love love love the can art on this one. It's beautiful. Especially so considering sunflowers hold a special place in our family, and this is just a beautiful presentation.
Anyway, the beer itself:
The pour is pale chalky yellow with a heart of pale orange, like a milky orange juice. Big wet white bubbles on the top. Settles to a fuzz. Nice delicate lacing down the glass.
Nose is immediately creamy orange. As it sits and warms and I dig in a little deeper I get some tropical fruits, maybe papaya, and like a mango lassi.
Flavour is quite bold with a lot of those rich overripe fruits. Sweet fruits and some straw malts underneath. Mango, cantaloup, the orange side of things. Nice bitter finish that, as I've noticed with TH brews, goes right to the green/underripe fruit side of things, which is ironic because it really dives right into the overripe fruits for the sweet, and the underripe fruits for the bitter.
Carpet of prickly carbonation over a thick body that gets a bit chalky. Finish lingers with that bitter underripe fruit presence from the hops.
This is a really tasty NEIPA. Thanks for sending it along Maynard!
