Quadruple Shot Mocha Cold Brew is a special rendition of Quadruple Shot deriving all of its coffee character from House-roasted and extracted cold brew concentrate and roasted cocoa nibs. This beer genuinely pursues the boundaries of coffee and chocolate character in a stout, yet retains perfect balance and flavor saturation. Pushing the boundaries results in a singular beverage that helps us perfect our regular offerings. Put simply, this is a liquid chocolate and coffee explosion unlike anything else.

No freshness info, disappointing.
Beyond the mocha, there isn't a lot here. And that's okay, I'm liking it as a mocha showcase. More chocolate than coffee, but both are prominent. I do get some ashy bitterness and molasses at the finish, as this warms especially.

Drank from a 12 oz. bottle purchased at Tree House Brewing Company, Charlton, MA
Served in a teku
Thanks to my buddy hopley for grabbing me this bottle.
Super viscous, total pitch black appearance. This definitely looked very similar to used motor oil. The body was capped by a thin, saddle brown film that quickly transformed into a lasting collar. There was no lacing whatsoever.
The aroma was somewhat underwhelming. Dark roast coffee notes dominated. Moderately smoky. Touch of ashy char. Roasted malts were also noticeable. Bit of caramel malt sweetness too. Hint of lactose. As the beer sat, more sweetness came forth. Subtle cocoa notes appeared as well.
The flavor profile was similar to the nose but more robust and complex. Rich and malty up front. Caramel malts were most apparent. Good dose of roasted malt character too. Coffee notes kicked in next. Medium roast coffee. Touch of lactose-like creaminess. Some alcohol warmth appeared in the center and intensified as the beer moved along the palate. Boozy and roasty notes rounded things out on the back end and the finish.
The mouthfeel was perhaps the most impressive aspect of the beer. It was full bodied for the style. Dense and oily on the palate. Really syrupy and viscous. The liquid contained a finely beaded, subtle effervescence that worked nicely for the style.
Mocha Cold Brew Quadruple Shot is a solid but not amazing Tree House pastry stout. A few years back, I probably would have thought this beer was really impressive, but there are so many other beers like it these days.

12oz. capped bottle into a Founders snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Pours super dense and viscous. No head but with huge legs. Nose is mocha, vanilla, chocolate, lactose, molasses and sweet cream. Milky. Beer opens chocolate, mocha, lactose, and coffee. I get coffee roast, molasses, and tobacco in the middle with copious amounts of vanilla. Syrup, more molasses, more chocolate, and brownie notes at the finish. Body is full with low carbonation. Viscous and chewy on the palate and goes down rich and heavy with a long, lingering aftertaste.
Desert in a glass.
