Passion is a rendition of Julius featuring water, malt, hops, yeast, and a blend of dried passion fruit purée and powder!

This high-quality adjunct addition brings an incredible tropical potency to the base beer, bringing out notes of tropical fruit bubble gum, sweet passion fruit candy, and mango jam all propelled by a sturdy body and luscious carbonation.

Simple in construct but transformative in its outcome, Passion is a beer that is worthy of the Julius family.

For the very best experience, please ensure you keep Passion icy cold at all times and enjoy it as fresh as possible!

L - pours a kinda dark orange. Surprisingly murky for TH. Not much head either. Even a hard pour yields a thin, bubbly head that dissipates faster than you can pour it. The pure white color is quite pleasing, as is the cracked desert floor you see when staring straight down on top of it.

S - tangy passionfruit is the highlight, mixed with vanilla and pink grapefruit. A splash of orange syrup and green onions to finish it off.

T - underripe berries and passionfruit puree that comes across more like blood orange and grapefruit peel. Passionfruit can be a muted flavor to begin with, so it's hard to pick out distinct passionfruit flavors without it blending into something else. Finish is brutally hoppy for a Tree House beer and nothing like Julius.

F - smooth as usual. Can always depend on TH to deliver the goods in that respect. Creamy without being too hefty.

O - wasn't sure how I was going to like this since passionfruit can be a polarizing flavor. Passion is still a delicious beer, but misses the mark somewhat since the passionfruit in this case only really serves to add extra bitterness to the base Julius while somehow removing the stupid delicious orange and mango flavors that make Julius Julius.

Canned 10/28/2021

Pours muddy orange with hefty off-white head with faint brown stain.

Smells of mango jam and passion fruit hi-chew.

Taste is ripe mango, blood orange, passion fruit sherbet ice cream, and special K red berries.

Mouth feel is creamy with some chew. Balanced finish with minimal bitterness. Passion fruit flavors linger.

Interesting iteration of original Julius and fine to drink, but not something I’d seek out again. Original Julius beats this all day long.

Pours hazy, orange gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is big passion fruit, earthy hops, and mango. Medium body, moderate carbonation, bitter. Big passion fruit but might be the least successful Julius variant yet. Passionfruit adds bitterness but not much to the Julius base. Interesting but nothing I need to get again.

16 oz can.

Pours an opaque burnt orange color with 2 fingers of fluffy off-white head. Pretty good head retention. Leaves a crown of lacing around the top of the glass.

Aromas of fresh passion fruit, mango, grapefruit and orange with a hint of Tree House yeast.

The flavor has strong passion fruit, followed by the typical Julius flavor profile. A sweet and slightly tart addition; like cherry flavored candy.

The feel is actually lighter in body than Julius, maybe even a bit watery. Moderate carbonation.

Overall, this is a great IPA because the base beer is Julius, but I feel like it's kind of unnecessary. The passion fruit is a decent addition but it's not strong enough to really be its own beer. Just call it Julius w/ Passion Fruit and move on.

Picked-up a single can at Tree House in Sandwich for $5.80. My two hundred and fourth brew from these guys. Canned on date of 10/28. This is very good, not great.
