16.9 oz bottle
Pours cloudy hazy maroon dark red amber brown with a dissipating frothy beige khaki colored foam head. Smells like banana bread, toasty brown bread, caramel apple, chocolate, creamy wheat, toffee, brown sugars, some apricot, dried fruity esters, mild peppery clove spice, and floral earthy herbal grassy hops. Tastes like toffee, brown sugar, creamy wheat, chocolate, caramel, red apple, red grape, hints of apricot, dried fruit, peppery clove spice, and floral earthy herbal grassy hops. Feels heavy, medium plus bodied, creamy slick with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a really nice weizenbock.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can, date stamp 10-14-2021. Pouring into my weizen glass.
I picked up the can at the brewery and its been in my cellar since then.
the beer pours a rich mahogany color with some ruby highlights when I hold the glass to a light source.
A fizzy beige head foams up about1.5 cm but fades to nothing pretty quickly. I didnt even capture the foam in my photo.
There is also no lacing when I swirl the glass or take a sip.
Aroma on this beer is some caramel malt, a bit of cherry cola and some cloves. I dont get any really hop balance and dont find the banana that I thought may be present.
The first sip reveals a medium to light body with crisp tingly carbonation and a bit of a sticky mouthfeel.
Flavor is some sweet caramel and then toasted, perhaps burnt wheat bread and some cloves. Here I also get a bit of an astringent bite on the finish, sort of black peppery. The finish is also very dry.
The beer is fine, but not amazing, I was hoping for a little more depth in flavor to be honest. Its not bad or flawed IMO, just kinda meh.

This ain’t yer typical review.
Do you like Tripels, Wittes? OK, HERE’s a drink that lands somewhere in between.
Think of this as a Witte with BALLS, visual nonwithstanding. Nice presentation,
highly drinkable. Tree House is The Home of The iPA, but I’m glad for experiments
as this. Sure hope it wins a place in the rotation and I mean 24/7/365!

Pretty boozy and sweet. Feels like a 12% ABV beer but it’s only 8%. Ok but not great for the style.

Pours much darker brown than expected, albeit still with some lovely reddish hues. The two fingers of airy, dark-khaki head quickly dissipate into a thin crown that leaves almost zero lacing.
Burnt caramel and toast dominate the aroma. There’s a hint of coffee behind. The slight banana has a formaldehyde-like quality to it.
The taste is a mix of lingering burnt toast floated in some semi-cloying, medicinal-like banana cough syrup.
Medium to full bodied with a sticky, syrupy feel. Tight fizz.
I jumped at this because I love a good weizenbock. This example is shockingly bad. Very disappointing.

Restless - a weizenbock from Tree House. Canned 10/14/21, labeled drink by 7/14/22. Pours very dark brown with sizeable white head. It's a frothy beer and the head lingers nicely - still plenty of lacing left halfway through the pint.
The nose is a bit muted here, not a ton of the classic yeasty aromas one expects from a wheat beer, nor the darker malts one expects from a bock. A little banana bread works in as it warms.
Flavors are more delicate than anticipated here. Malty, a little bready, just a touch of clove/fruit. A very subtle flavor profile, which is not what I expected from TH.
The mouthfeel is soft, not as creamy as the verbiage on the can led me to think it would be.
This beer was perfectly enjoyable to drink but I wouldn't seek it out again. I'm glad TH is continuing to push into new styles, but this was not a highlight of their expanding european styles portfolio.
