Dry Hop Volume: 11.5#/ BBL

We have long struggled to determine the value of increasing hop saturation for the sake of greater appeal within our core family of beers. With each new rendition, we have pondered where the limit of enjoyability lies. As the saying goes, you don’t know until you try, and thus, we will try!

We initiated this project to Find that Limit. With each successive batch, we will slowly ramp up our residual sugar content, alcohol content, and dry hop volume as an interactive endeavor whereby we collectively determine a reasonable limit of what is enjoyable.

The hope for this project is to have some fun, make enjoyable beers, and identify that diminishing returns are real at the extreme end of beer-making.

16oz can with illegible date code.

Pours milky yellow with an inch of white fluff. Moderate retention and lacing. Pungently tropical and juicy in the nose. Candied peach, mango and tangerine. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Big hops on the palate and slightly tongue-numbing. Peach, pineapple, mango, and white grape. Finishes dry with plenty of tropical juice and a firm bitterness.

Hazy bright yellow with a white head with thin waves of lacing. Big honeydew in smell and taste. Joining the honeydew is juicy and floral hops with kiwi and papaya in nose. Taste has floral notes, mango, passionfruit, kiwi, papaya. Feel is very juicy, and lesser so, soft, before well hopped finish, pretty bright too. Delicious tropical delight

L - first limit beer! Pours a murky greenish haze. Thick like mud. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that there are hops in this thar beer. Lovely frothy head. Foamy and full-figured. Great lacing and head retention. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a TH beer. Missed this. Seems like no other NEIPA brewery can do it like TH can.

S - candy-forward. Musty grape, Galaxy saturation, creamsicle heft, and a very Very Green inspiration. Apricot, pineapple, and overripe cantaloupe.

T - holy crap. Hop intensity that overwhelms the senses. Like walking into an indoor pool and taking that first deep breath of humid chlorine. You can feel it invade every inch of your sinuses. Jackfruit galore, and I no longer feel weird saying that since I've made it a point to eat loads of the stuff ever since the great TH BA forum incident. Sweet, sticky, creamy. Sugary without being cloying. Finish is dangerously smooth for what this is packing. Minimal aftertaste, just a light lingering hop bitterness that demands another sip.

F - liquid velvet. Doesn't get much softer than this. Impossibly creamy with a slight chalky sensation as the hop puree continues to seep into every corner of my mouth.

O - boy, they weren't kidding about pushing limits. This is such a dense and compacted beer that I'm surprised it's only 8.5%. I guess the whole 11 lbs of dry hopping thing will make it seem that way. There are certain flavor profiles in TH beers that I really enjoy and this is one of them. Love that shameless juice.
