Brewed with Simcoe, Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook, House IPA is an homage to the origins of American IPA while introducing our methods of water treatment. The result is a uniquely drinkable American IPA with a firm bitterness and brilliant notes of citrus and pine. It is crafted as a sort of table IPA, a beer that can be shared on any occasion and fade into the background as a mere companion to barbecues, celebrations, gatherings, the great outdoors, or wherever your life may lead you - enjoy!

16oz can dated 6/15/23.
Pours clear gold with an inch of white head. Moderate retention and lacing. Pine and grapefruit with a minerally, earthy undertone in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft but crisp mouthfeel. Earthy pine with grapefruit and faint orange pith on the palate. Finishes crisp with a drying bitterness and a kiss of malt.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Tree House in Sandwich for about fifteen dollars. My three hundred and fourteenth brew from these guys. No canned on date. Thae name is fitting, as this is the equivalent of the house wine.

This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head and lots of lacing.
This smells piney, with orange, grapefruit, and tangerine.
This is much more straightforward and less overtly New England than Tree House is typically known for. It’s not West Coast though either, it’s somewhere in between. There’s a firm and spicy pine bitterness and a very pleasant fresh and juicy hop character as well.
This one is lighter bodied and very drinkable, with a smooth bite on the finish.
I like the idea behind this a lot, and it was executed well.

From a 16oz can, dated 01/18/22. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours an unfiltered, near-clear and bright honey-gold with a big two-plus finger pouffy white head. Retention is excellent with wads of gobby lacing.
Nose is sharp, grainy, yeasty. Crackers and lemon wipes. Fruitier as it sits and warms; apricot and pineapple.
Taste is… OK, here’s what happened: I went to take a sip and just suddenly sucked the whole glass dry. So hang on while I refill the glass...
Tasting soda cracker and grapefruit juice, lemon oil and some mildly spicy pine tips. Caramel malty sweetness balanced against medium-low bitterness and then a smidge of aspirin at the end.
Feel is slightly oily, medium bodied but with bright carbonation making it feel even a bit lighter. Super-easy to gulp and, as noted above, I did, repeatedly and involuntarily.
Overall, what they did here, was they took their idea of what’s a classic old-school American IPA and sanded off all the rough edges. It’s not a ‘wow’ Tree House IPA and, if you read the brewer’s description, it’s not supposed to be.
