Canned Winter 2025
Tree House's Tart series is far from my favorite series of Weisses, but they're pretty solid for what they are. This one caught my eye though, especially since I picked it up the day before Thanksgiving. Cranberry is a rather uncommon fruit for beer so I'm excited to see what they do with this one. Let's dive right in
Pours a lightly cloudy gold with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is pretty gentle, no surprise given the other ones I've tried. I'm picking up on aromas of orange jello, tart cranberry, earthy wheat, straw, lemon zest, grass, and light honey
There's more bite to it in taste, it's definitely more tart than the rest of the series. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart cranberry, orange juice, earthy wheat, lemon juice, raw grain, coriander, honey, and light lavender. The swallow brings notes of tart cranberry, orange jello, earthy wheat, lemon zest, crackery malt, honey, light sea salt, and straw
A light body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp and airy beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshing
This is definitely one of my favorites in the series. It's rather simplistic like they all are, but it has a nice bite to it

16oz. can into a Founders snifter.
Nice bright red color with a quickly collapsing foamy white head. Spotty lace and small legs. Nose is cranberry tartness mixed with nice foamy funk and a touch of sulfur. Pretty aromatic. Beer opens cranberry seed and a prickly tartness. Much of the same in the middle and end. One dimensional but its exactly what you expect. Clean fruit presence with an accented tartness. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively in the mouth. Quenching and crisp going down. Foamy finish with a clean aftertaste. A delicious summer session feel.
A nice cranberry sour. No more, no less. Characterizes the fruit well.

From a 16oz can, dated 01/11/22. Served in a willi becher.
Pours a pink-tinged crystalline clear with a scant quarter-finger of fizzy head. No retention at all to speak of, just a slippery little collar.
Nose is the most legitimately beer-like thing going on here. A sharp, wheaty aroma. A little musty smelling.
Tastes pretty much like a cranberry seltzer. I know there’s orange, because the can says so, so O.K., some bitter orange peel but, other than that, it’s straight-up a cranberry juice cocktail.
Feel is crisp and clean, light and refreshing, briskly carbonated.
Overall, if you enjoy cranberry juice, and if you enjoy seltzers, then here you go. Otherwise, not quite seeing the point.
