Glow Sticks is an American Double IPA brewed with Comet, Citra, and Galaxy hops atop a base of Golden Promise and Pilsner Malt. Pouring a beautiful yellow color in the glass, Glow Sticks presents with flavors and aromas of bright citrus, ripe pineapple, and lime with a smooth texture and thirst-quenching bitterness. Seriously, though, don’t throw your glow sticks. You are, however, encouraged to enjoy the heck out of this beer!

From a 16oz can, dated 08/16/23. ‘Living the dream.’ Served in a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a hazy dull orange with a finger-plus of soft and lathery, cream colored head. Retention is excellent, leaving a heavy, creamy cap and a solid sheet of sudsy lacing.
Nose is faintly fruity, doughy, mildly sweet. Aroma is peachy, citrusy and creamy. Disappointingly faint maybe but, what there is of, it’s nice.
Taste is juicy and tangy or maybe more like a fruit punch soda. Off the bat it’s a fruity melange of pineapple, peach, sweet orange, limeade and macerated berry. Assorted LifeSaver flavors with minimal bitterness but with an unfortunate greasy diesel-like note at the finish which almost ruins the whole thing for me.
Feel is juicy, medium bodied and brightly carbonated. I nearly wrote ‘clean’ before noting that the greasy diesel character carries through into the mouthfeel - just a little but still noticeably- and with a boozy smoulder that feels warmer than its stated 7.8% abv.
Overall, a mixed bag for me but, I hate to say, mostly a disappointment. That ‘greasy diesel’ fusel thing is something I’ve encountered often enough in NEIPA’s from less accomplished brewers but never, as best I can recall, from Tree House. Edit to add: I don’t see anyone else complaining about it so maybe a bad can? Is that even possible with a fusel flaw? Or maybe I’m just a total dick.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Tree House in Sandwich for about twenty one dollars. My two hundred and ninety first brew from these guys. Excellent.

Glow Sticks
Tree House Brewing Company IPA - Imperial / Double
Notes:
Super smooth sweet citrus, peach, melon mix in the hops. Golden hazy goodness, Lemon and lime kick is nice with a creamy body and golden grainy malt base but with big, huge complexity in every way, aroma, feel and flavor. Dry hopped kick with a tang. Top notch stuff as usual.

Had on tap at Sandwich. Pours hazy, orange gold in color with one inch head. Taste is big mango and light starfruit. Heavy body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. Pulpy and good. I am liking this more and more as I sip it. Increased my review scores.
