Ultraviolet is an American Double IPA brewed with Strata, Nelson, Citra, and Galaxy hops atop a clean base of ultra pale Pilsner malt. Pouring a gorgeous yellow color in the glass, Ultraviolet tastes like ripe tropical fruit, white wine, earthy citrus, and papaya with an appropriate and thirst-quenching bitterness. A mouthwatering cornucopia of flavor, Ultraviolet is an instant Tree House classic.

L - dull, smokey orange. Hazy with a nice pineapple juice gradient from the bottom up. Fluffy head that retains itself well and jiggles like jell-o.
S - dank and earthy. Onions, dry hops, grape must, and lemon lime candy.
T - same zest as the nose up front with spicy grapefruit peel, but quickly this burst of melon and tropical fruit pushes to the front of the line. Tangy and herbal with lasting bitterness. Not overwhelming, but lingers like hot pepper heat. Begs another sip for that sweet, sweet fruit relief. Vinous and earthy.
F - full-bodied and somewhat chewy, especially for this ABV. Thick and creamy, this is satisfying like biting into ripe fruit.
O - this one dances between fruity and zesty. Nicely balanced which keeps the beer exciting throughout the entire can.

It seems rare that a Tree House IPA will let me down, and this one didn't; it was another winner that was juicy, full of citrus flavors and aromas like tropical fruit, it was easier to drink than a 7.8% ABV should be and was a really well done DIPA. Tree House has slight nuances to the flavors of each IPA, but they're consistently well balanced with sturdy malt backbones which allow the hops, and in particular the citrus, to shine.

Tree House Brewing Co. "Ultraviolet"
16 fl. oz. can coded "GETCHA SHADES ONNNNN 04/07/22 06:07:03" and sampled on 05/18/22
Notes via stream of consciousness: So what is Ultraviolet? It's a double IPA at 7.8% ABV brewed from Pilsner malt and Strata, Nelson Sauvin, Citra, and Galaxy hops. It's poured a murky yellow-gold body beneath a finger's width of dense white foam. The aroma expresses gooseberry, citrus, and peach. The taste is fuller with additional notes of strawberry, white grape, passionfruit, hop resins, and even bubblegum. The malt is straightforward grainy and grassy Pilsner. It's sweetish but a firm bitterness backs it and along with some mild acidic "hop burn" it comes to a dry finish that's earthy and resinous. I'm really liking this one as it's quite unique - berries, peach, and bubblegum? C'mon!!! In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp with a little zest on the tongue from the hop acids. The head has held up well, as is always the case with Treehouse beers, and there's a whole lot of magnificent lacing left behind. It's kind of like looking at clouds and finding images in them, and right now I've got a roaring dinosuar before me! I haven't looked at the numbers but this is probably one of my favorite beers from Treehouse because it's got the flavors, it's got the resins and "hop burn", and yet it's not such a palate crusher that you can't drink more than one.

Sweet tropical hoppy, white wine grape, and hint of earthy-citrus nose on this one! Taste follows with a slightly malty, hoppy and citrus-dank bitter finish. This is nice and soft on the palate and has a nice hoppy kick on the backend that lingers. This is pretty good!

A plethora of sumptuous flavor. I usually am a New England guy, but this Imperial is really trumping my usual Tree House favs. Very hazy for an Imperial and all the better for it. Poured into a Tree House tulip and enjoyed while Aaron Judge finally wakes the frig up and homers again. 4-22-22.
