Double Shot Whole Bean is a rendition of Double Shot brewed by steeping the finished beer on whole bean coffee. It is being released side-by-side with a version of Double Shot imparted with pure cold brew concentrate for comparison and consideration. For reference, the original Double Shot uses a blend of these methods plus additional means. Pouring like molten chocolate in the glass, Double Shot Whole Bean expresses chocolate wafer-like characteristics balanced by a full-bodied coffee character. What a treat!

16 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours a viscous/oily pitch black with a sexy tan head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma and flavor feature fresh brewed coffee, dark roasted malt, vanilla, caramel, and dark chocolate. This is a deep, dark brew in the best way possible. Sweet but not cloying. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, thick, and palate-coating. Amazing stuff.

16oz. can into a Tree House teku.
This one pours just as viscous as the Cold Brew but not as impressive. 0.5 finger head that builds slowly. Stringy lace with solid legs. Nose is much more mocha and chocolate forward. Both milk and dark. Coffee presence complements the chocolate well but doesn't dominate. Decently aromatic. Beer opens chocolate milk, mocha, molasses, and fudge. Like a chocolate covered chocolate sunday. Heavy, sweet and sticky. Robust coffee presence in the beginning to middle with a heavy dose of lactose and vanilla. Sweet lactose and more vanilla and sweet cream notes towards the end. Finishes chocolate, coffee syrup, and cocoa powdered brownie. Still very good. Body is full with low carbonation. Smooth and rich on the palate and goes down viscous and chewy with a lingering aftertaste.
I don't think this is quite at the level of the Cold Brew but still very solid in its own right.

Poured from a 16oz can into pint glass in May 2022. There was a date of 2022 on the bottom of the can. I bought the beer at the Tree House brewery, and drank it within one month of purchase.
Appearance: Very dark black with a very thin dark brown head. Head barely covered the beer, and lasted only a minute. It left practically no lacing on the glass, and ended with just s few bubbles on the beer.
Smell: Aroma of coffee, roasted grain, with some chocolate. There is also some caramel, but overall the coffee and roasted malt dominate the others. The coffee aroma is not as strong as I expected.
Taste: There is a strong coffee and chocolate flavors. I also taste some smoky roasted flavors and licorice flavors. Also, There is a small amount of bitter hop flavors to enhance the taste. There is a medium-strong alcohol presence, which matches the 8.6% on the label.
Mouth-feel: Full body and thick, but also smooth. It has a little edge, like an Imperial Stout. A little more full-bodied than I expected from an 8.6% stout.
This is a very good Stout, and I enjoyed the variety of bold flavors. The various flavors balance themselves well, especially the coffee and chocolate. Even though it is a full-bodied beer, it is still smooth and enjoyable to drink. I would buy this again.
