Prism is an American IPA brewed as an homage to our core set of beers. Based on Rainbow, its Double IPA big sister, Prism is brewed with ultra-pale malts and the juiciest, hand-selected hops we could find in Washington. Pouring a beautiful yellow color in the glass, it carries notes of soft mango candy, tropical fruit gummies, and ripe orange juice wrapped up in a timeless and refined Tree House body—Enjoy!

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Tree House in Sandwich for about seventeen dollars. My three hundred and eighteenth brew from these guys. Fine beer.

From a 16oz can, dated 03/21/23. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.

Pours a milky-cloudy mango-orange with one-and-a-half fingers of pouffy white fluff. Retention is excellent, leaving a foamy cap and a sticky sheet of sudsy lacing.

Nose is sharp and citrusy. Aroma of orange peel and lemon.

Taste is chalky, all baking soda and citrus pith. Tasting grapefruit juice, grapefruit pith, guava, orange juice and aspirin. The can promises mango candies and tropical gummies but the can lies.

Feel is soft and gritty, medium bodied with fine, bright carbonation. Sticky lips.

I won’t go so far as to say that this was an utter miss however, considering the depth of Tree House’s IPA portfolio, I can’t see any reason to ever revisit this one.

Pours hazy, milky gold in color with one inch head. Taste is smoothed over peach, mango, and guava. Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. Good neipa. Not stellar in Tree House's lineup but would stand out anywhere else.

Tree House Brewing Company IPA - American

Just a solid AIPA with a dense haze and ultra smooth body. PNW hops are sweetly pine and orange peel style. Assertive yet the lush, golden malted grain pushes it to another level for the style. Definitely a hybrid of the American and New England styles.

Purchased at Tree House Brewing Company - Deerfield

16oz. can into a Founders snifter. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a 0.5 finger white head. Stringy and spotty lace. Pale hazy color. Nose is slightrly funky. I get notes of citrus, peach, pineapple, and a dank earthiness. Moderately aromatic. Beer opens citrus, pineapple, starfruit, and cane sugar. Some rind in the middle with touches of white peach and cotton candy. End is more citrus and rind. Body is light with moderate to ample carbonation. Fluffy and light on the palate and goes down dry. Clean finish with little aftertaste.

Very balanced. Real nice session beer.

Pours an opaque straw color with a half finger of head. The nose has some citrus notes with oranges being the most specific discernible note. The orange carries over in the flavor profile. The bitterness is minimal.

This would be a good offering from practically any brewery but it pales in comparison to most beers from TH.

Tree House Brewing Co. "Prism"
16 fl. oz. can coded "WHERE IS THE WARM WEATHER? 04/28/22 09:16:50" and sampled on 05/25/22
$17.20/4-pk at the brewery on 05/12/22

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a very cloudy golden body beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is resinous and fruity. It's tropical/citrusy with some mango showing clearly, and lightly herbal in the background. The flavor reveals additional notes of orange, peach, bubblegum, papaya, and sweet red berries. There's a little bit of spiciness, and some sage and mint in the mostly dry finish. I don't get any alcohol so I'm assuming this is below 8%... yes, it's 6.8%, which isn't too far off but unless you've messed it up the alcohol shouldn't really show until after 8%. I'm also not getting any "hop bite" but that's fine with me, that makes for an easier drinking beer in my opinion. The malt is sweetish, and basic. I'm not getting any wheat or oats here although I don't doubt they're there, I'm just not tasting them distinctly. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. The head held up very well, and as usual for Tree House it's left some great lacing behind. In the end I'm not blown away by the hops in this one because it's more restrained than most of their IPAs but there is something special about whatever combination they're using (Mosaic/Citra/???). Having said that I'm not blown away by the malt and mouthfeel either, and yet I REALLY, REALLY like it. Tree House is known for making in your face beers that wreck your palate but this one is far more accessible and repeatably drinkable than those and there's something to be said for that. I can only handle one of those bad boys a night but I could probably enjoy four of these in a row.
