@WunderLlama sent this my direction during NBS BIF #16.
Pours a murky light orange colour. Massive piles of off white foam that stick to the glass and leave behind a tale of its passing.
Nose is flush with... pureed fruits. Honestly it smells more like peach to me than mango or guava to me. It smells like frozen peach juice concentrate.
Flavour follows much the same blueprint: it tastes of fruit concentrate that leads over to fruity and bitter hops.
Sharp fine blanket of carbonation and a bitter finish of green underripe fruit that is short lived paired with a creamy sweet swell.
I mean, it's another pureed fruit juice with hops. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to have tried it, but I just can't get into this whole genre of IPAs.
Thank you Maynard for letting me learn and decide for myself!

No date on the can.
Well the mango and guava are very prominent and quite tasty but there is not a lot of beer going on here. This is quite sweet and could use a little something to cut it a bit. This is great as sweet fruit showcase.

Can dated 9.19, opened 10.23, poured into a teku
American IPA, 6.8% ABV, 16 oz, Limit 1PP) Island is a rendition of Julius featuring a blend of mango & guava purée along with heaps of each in freeze-dried form. Pouring Julius orange in the glass, Island carries gooey note of overripe tropical fruit, tropical fruit bubble gum and mango sorbet. A function of simple ingredients executed with care and diligence, Island is a beer worth celebrating
A variation derived from the iconic TH Julius
“Take me back”
Hazy deep orange liquid, thick frothy off white two finger foam lacings, good retention, sticky, spotty lacings
Aroma is guava, tropical fruits, bubblegum, orange citrus
Taste is guava, tropical fruits, bubblegum, hint of dank on the finish
Smooth , low sudsing, no hop bite. Semi dry finish
Good beer

Canned 9/19/22. “Take me back” stamped on the bottom of the can
Moving right along with my latest Tree House haul, we have yet another Julius variant. For these fruited variants, I tend to prefer those that riff off of King Julius, but I felt like going for something a little different today. Julius with mango and guava sounds like a good combination so let’s get into it
Pours a hazy orange gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
Man, this is just an assault of fruit in the nose. I’m picking up on aromas of underripe mango, peach gummy, orange juice, bready malt, earthy guava, light melon, and peppery hops
It’s not quite as fruit forward in taste, but the balance it finds is still fantastic. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting mango juice, earthy hops, bready malt, peach gummy, grass, and light guava. The swallow brings notes of bready malt, orange zest, earthy hops, guava, underripe mango, coconut, light white pepper, and gooseberry
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes dry, but perhaps a touch abrasive with its bitterness that affects the feel more than the taste
It’s not quite as drinkable as it should be for what it is, but it’s still an enjoyable and generally fun beer

Pours ultra hazy, gold orange in color with one inch head. Taste is big mango, guava, bubblegum and a touch of coconut. Medium body and carbonation, slightly bitter. Liking this way more than I thought I would. Wasn't crazy about a variant with two additives but this works so well. Still get the base of Julius but very tropical. A lot better than the Very Hazy variation I just had. A surprise but wow.

Picked-up two cans at Tree House in Sandwich for about twelve dollars. My 250th brew from these guys. This is very good.
