Canned 5/10/22. “Beer is good, live well” stamped on the bottom of the can
We’re nearing the end of this set of Tree House reviews, and we have a nice simple Helles. I quite enjoyed the OG Wanderer, so I figured I may as well get one of the variants they had. Let’s crack it open
Pours a clear yellow gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
This is pretty standard fare in the nose, but it has a nice fruity touch to it. I’m picking up on aromas of crackery malt, sweet honey, toasted grain, orange zest, herbal hops, white grape skin, and light white pepper
It goes in a bit more of a spicy route in taste, but it’s still nicely done. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting biscuity malt, lemon zest, white pepper, herbal hops, and light cracker. The swallow brings notes of toasted grain, crackery malt, sweet honey, lemon zest, herbal hops, and white pepper
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes neutral but slightly juicy for the style where I prefer them drier
It’s nothing amazing, but it’s pretty damn solid. They have better Lagers but this one is still worth a shot
