Poured from a 16oz can stamped simply 2022 to a diagonally cut tumbler at fridge temp, but I sipped slowly and let it warm.
Body is black and the ΒΌ-inch (6mm) head is a nice brown. The head fades to a ring, but creates a brief oily lacing with every glass swirl.
The aroma is of musty coffee and caramelized sugar.
The front end of the taste is coffee that is quickly taken over by a sugar bomb. After the swallow the sweetness subsides and a coffee/bourbon taste materializes that is quite pleasant. I can even sense some hops in that afterglow. I really am not a fan of all that sweetness though.
The mouthfeel is of medium viscosity, but very sticky (big surprise huh). There is pretty good carbonation for the style and the assumed age (about 4-5 months).
I really wish the talent at Treehouse would challenge themselves to make a bitter stout.

16oz. can into a Tree House teku. Shared with schen9303.
Pours a dense, pitch black brew like iced coffee but with a frothy, rich, 1 finger mocha colored head with excellent stick and thin legs. The aroma here can't be beat. Huge notes of iced coffee, hazelnut, rich cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and a lactose creaminess that ties everything together. Incredibly aromatic. Beer opens milk chocolate, hazelnut, and iced coffee. I get a touch of coffee bean tartness in the middle mixed with cocoa powder and roasted malt. Some brownie towards the middle and end with more cocoa and espresso at the finish. So good! Body is medium to full with low carbonation. Smooth and chewy on the palate and goes down viscous. Long, lingering aftertaste.
This beer gives me memories of Good Morning... and that in and of itself means you should try it.
