Pours cloudy copper with minimal retention or lacing. Tangerine with vanilla in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Tangerine sherbet on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Finishes juicy and not too sweet.

Canned 8/19/22. “Live well” stamped on the bottom of the can

Back with a new Tree House haul, and I’m starting things off with this one, a tangerine/vanilla infused King Julius. I’ve been a fan of them fruiting their flagship NEIPAs so I have high hopes for this one. Let’s crack it open

Pours a hazy muddy brown with 3 fingers of creamy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

This is predominantly vanilla in the nose, but it’s backed up nicely by the base beer. I’m picking up on aromas of vanilla bean, mango juice, tangerine zest, peppery hops, candied peach, doughy malt, and light pineapple

The vanilla takes more of a backseat in taste, really letting the tangerine shine. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting tangerine juice, pineapple, underripe mango, creamy vanilla, doughy malt, light grassy hops, and a touch of banana. The swallow brings notes of tangerine zest, orange juice, vanilla bean, candied peach, pineapple juice, grassy hops, doughy malt, and light weed

A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth and slick beer. Finishes neutral which is nice for the Milkshake IPA style which can be sometimes too sticky

Tree House killed it once again with a KJ variant. I’m excited to try the other one I got this trip, Smooth Green

a: murky dark orange creamy color. something almost brown towards the bottom of the glass. 1.5 finger frothy creamy off-white head

s: wow loads of tangerine, vanilla, and creamsicle. smells like straight tropical creamsicle ice pop. sweet orange and vanilla ice cream. some pineapple and mango

t: taste follows the nose. creamsicle ice pop. lots of tangerine and vanilla. sweet mango and orange juice. a bit of alcohol in here as well. passionfruit and a bit of alcohol tinge at the end

m: super creamy, fluffy medium mouthfeel. low-moderate carbonation

o: the smell is straight ice pop. flavor mimics that, however there is a touch of alcohol harshness at the end the is a little detrimental to me

Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned on 6/1/22. Pours a hazy dark orange with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace, with exceptional retention. 4.5

Aroma is orange sherbet, pineapple, and peach. 4.25

Taste follows, but orange sherbet is very dominant. The other flavors barely have a cameo. 4.5

Mouthfeel is above average, not sticky or dry, soft gentle carbonation, and at 8.3% really easy drinking and loaded with flavor. 4.5

Overall this one is pretty intense, I would definitely give it a go if you are lucky enough. 4.5

Picked-up two cans at Tree House in Sandwich for about thirteen dollars. My 258th brew from these guys. Excellent.

16 oz can.

Pours a deep amber orange color, completely opaque, with a 2 finger creamy white head. Stubborn retention. Leaves a halo of lacing around the top of the glass. As good as any hazy IPA will look.

The aroma is just dominated by the tangerine. There's a bit of candied orange and vanilla.

The flavor is the same: Tangerine, orange candy and vanilla.

The feel is medium-full bodied with lower carbonation. Soft and a little boozy.

Overall, this is a...good beer. I'm not finding anything resembling King Julius here, but it definitely brings the tangerine and vanilla notes as advertised. Kinda gimmicky. Like I said, good beer, just not something I'd buy again.

Pours ultra hazy, orange gold in color with one third inch head. Smell is amazing...fresh Tangerines..candle company good. Taste is big Tangerine Life Savers, vanilla, and Creamsicle. Medium heavy body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. Delicious. Several of Tree House's additive beers have been disappointing lately but this is really good. Reminds me of Creamsicle but huge tangerine taste. Fresh and simple.
