Notes:
Double Shot Barrel Blend is a rendition of Double Shot brewed to showcase a blend of barrel-aged beer with our esteemed Double Shot Base.
Pouring a syrup-like black color into the glass, it carries dense notes of chewy fudge, bourbon vanilla candy, and dark roast Tree House coffee buoyed by a classic Tree House mouthfeel.
It is a beautiful marriage of our roasting and brewing team's energy and enthusiasm for their respective endeavors -- Enjoy!

This is another TH legend sent my way by the generous BA @WunderLlama during NBS BIF #16.
I just had the Single Shot, so I'm doing a semi-side by side.
Pours that same majestic a,most-obsidian deep brown just shading this side of black. The head is a deeper richer brown than the single shot. Same short life, that culminates in a very faint dusting and a minor ring around the edge. Similarly minimal lacing.
Nose is already considerably different compared to the Single Shot. Honestly, less enjoyable to my sniffer. It's a little sharper... it feels like there's more lactose compared to the single shot, though this one (the double shot) doesn't list lactose on the can at all, so I don't know if that's a figment of my imagination or not. It's also much drier and almost more chicory than the roasty-warm-nutty/woody-with-espresso-overtones of the single shot.
The flavour is much sweeter, again tasting like they amped up the lactose (whether that is extant or not). It kind of runs roughshod over the coffee side of things. The coffee is in there, but barely, as it's more the chocolate and sweet stout. Actually, that's what it makes me think of: condensed milk and chocolate syrup. With a little nod to the coffee on the back end. There's also a bit of sour alcohol that always reminds me of cheap bourbon. Mostly just very sweet, though.
Body is oily again, but not as thick as I'd want for how sweet it is. Sticky with the sweetness.
I liked the single shot significantly more than this one, but I'm grateful to have gotten the chance to try it. Thanks Maynard!!

16 oz can, poured into a snifter. Pours pitch black with a dark tan head. Great retention, some lacing. Aroma and flavor feature espresso, dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, and sweet vanilla. The bourbon is in the background - to the point that I didn't really notice it. On the sweeter side but not cloying. Mouthfeel is thick, full, and palate-coating with carbonation on the lighter side. Definitely a sipper, but still very drinkable. The alcohol is well-hidden.
As with almost all TH stouts, I am blown away. Simply stunning.

Perfect example of an American Coffee Stout.
Roasty, the mouthfeel is thiccboi, smells like a double espresso.
Taste like cocoa, fudge , vanilla, bitter coffee and dark berries.
I've had a few of these TH Coffee Stouts and im looking forward to Quad Shot.

Absolutely fantastic stout. Pours black as night. Small head but lacing clings to the sides immediately. Smells a bit of coffee and chocolate. Taste is a blend of coffee, booze and chocolate. Was this even in a bourbon barrel? One of the thickest beers I’ve ever had and it’s not even 9%. Nice job!
