One more XX Shot sent my direction by @WunderLlama during NBS BIF #16.
Pour is a deep velvety brown bordering on black. Head is a lovely vibrant dark brown that is initially velvety smoothe, but dissipates pretty quickly, leaving a few small continents and a thin ring around the glass. Very light polka dots of lacing left behind.
Nose is very inviting... warm nutty/woody character that reminds me of the base Single Shot (this is a very good thing). Almost kind of musty, but in the way that an old library in a fancy mansion might be musty, with old books, and leather chairs, and a fire roaring on a blustery night, without any of the negative connotations of musty. Impressions of fancy light roast coffee beans. Thumbs up over here.
Flavour leads in sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, as some of the other XX Shot variants have been for me. A wreath of caramel sweetness wrapped around everything else, distracting but not overwhelming. The interior returns to the round brown nutty/woody impression from the nose. Rich fancy espresso and fudgy chocolate.
This is the thickest and chewiest of the XX Shots that I've had today. I like this one a lot. It's every bit of the 10.8% ABV on the can, and as such is definitely a sipper, and one that, even in a 12oz can, I'm going to put half of it back in the fridge to finish tomorrow.
Thanks Maynard for sending it my direction!!

12 oz can, on the bottom dated simply "Autumn 2022". Picked up at the brewery last week.
pours inky black, thick brown colored head that fades to nothing. oily look. Huge espresso aroma with rich molasses, caramel, a touch of mulling spice. Similar flavor, fairly sweet. Very thick bodied, a slick oily mouthfeel.
