Focusing Illusion is a Gose brewed with our souring bacteria, pale malt, wheat, coriander, and sea salt. Following fermentation, it is conditioned on a modest dose of fresh-from-the-bush black currants grown by TreeHouse Farm & Fermentory. The aroma and flavor are the stars of the show. Focusing Illusion pours a lovely deep yellow color into the glass and carries notes of raspberry, cherry, and hints of sweet dark fruit. Gentle acidity and a hint of salt round out the flavor of this artful and delicate beverage–Enjoy!

From a 750ml bottle, undated. Served in a cervoise.

Pours a hazy, sunshiney honey-gold with two-plus fingers of soapy suds. Retention is unexpectedly quite good but, when the head does settle back, it leaves little trace, just a couple of fizzy little islets.

Nose is quite mild, a little background funk but mainly cakey and floral.

Taste is sharper than the aroma, but not by a lot. Cakey, doughy, almost custard-like on the palate with a mild herbal/floral bend. I get just the slightest salty fruit juice character at the tail end of the sip.

Feel is smooth and slick, medium-full bodied relative to the style with fine, gentle carbonation.

Overall, enjoyable if not likely to be memorable. As is my custom with anything on the tart/sour spectrum, I split the bottle with mammosilenus however I feel confident that I could have tackled this one on my own.

The dark gold body displays minimal sparkle under a short white head that quickly dies off to a sparse film.

This has a salinic and vinous nose with a mildly tart, almost raspberry gummy-like palate. A bit of a toasty, bitter element supports the back end.

While underwhelming next to their lagers, it's still tasty.

Had on tap. Pours clear, gold in color with minimal head. Taste is peach and melon with light salt. Light bodied, low carbonation, slightly salty. Like my goses salter but this is solid/inoffensive for a first company gose.

Just left Tree House? Cool, time to drink Tree House at home, this one being from my trip last week. Having a Gose in a 750 feels like something from before my era in craft beer, but I like the vibe. Also black currants in a Gose sounds interesting to me so I had to grab this. Let’s pop it open and see what it’s all about

Pours a cloudy orange with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves minimal lacing

There’s a nice floral and fruity punch to the nose in this one. I’m picking up on aromas of black currant, lemon zest, rose water, tart blueberry, doughy malt, earthy wheat, coriander, and light pear skin

The tartness to this one is really subtle on the back end, almost a bit too much, but it has a good tartness up front. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting black raspberry, black currant, lemon zest, earthy wheat, bready malt, light sea salt, and apple skin. The swallow brings notes of black currant, doughy malt, earthy wheat, coriander, honey, apple skin, and light lemon zest

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a sharp but slightly watery beer. Finishes truly neutral with minimal tartness

This one is definitely a bit strange, but mostly enjoyable. I wish it was just a bit more tart
