Trail Fresh Hop Strata is a rendition of our Pilsner dry-hopped with boatloads of fresh-picked Strata that went straight from the field, onto a plane, and to Tree House within twelve hours of harvest. It is exploding with tropical fruit flavors atop a crisp and refreshing lager base. As the market begins to move toward the conveniences of pelletized fresh hop products, we have remained decidedly old school, going farm direct in this increasingly rare delight.

Picked up a single can as part of a mixed twelve pack at Tree House Brewery in Sandwich, Massachusetts for about forty eight dollars. My three hundred and eighty second brew from these guys. Nice beer.

Citrus, predominantly lime. Dank hop character that lingers. Bready malt base. It is both light and crisp but satisfying at the same time. I think this might be my favorite out of the wet hop harvest mix pack.

12oz can.

Pours clear yellow with a half-inch head of white. Green and leafy with a hint of lime in the nose. Light bodied with a thin mouthfeel. Faint citrus on the palate with zero malt or bitterness. Finishes watery with a hint of biscuits and wet hay.

Pours a lightly hazy golden. It's hazy but you can see light through it. It's not turbid like an IPA. It's like heavy chill haze hazy. Strawberry on the nose. I get like a water or underripe strawberry. That's not a bad thing. It's quite refreshing and hit the spot.

Darker amber than I expected for a Pilsner. Of the three wet/fresh hopped Trail variants I tried recently, this was definitely my least liked. There's a lot of fruit flavors going on that seemed out of place.
