Good session IPA, considering it's low ABV. Pineapple, orange, and grapefruit notes. Hints of pine, pepper, and floral. Light-bodied. Undated can.

16oz undated can.
Pours cloudy yellow with a half-inch head of white. Retention and lacing is fairly minor.
Fairly pungent in the nose with orange, peach, mango. Light bodied with a thin, watery mouthfeel. Orange zest and peach fuzz on the palate. Finishes dry with minimal bitterness.

This one pours a fairly hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like orange creamsicle and pine.
This drinks a lot bigger than the 2.5% would indicate, but you can definitely tell this is not your standard Julius. It’s still got that punchy and vibrant orange creamsicle vibe, with melon, grapefruit, and a nice drying bitterness.
This finishes drier and a bit more watery than regular Julius, but not significantly or distractingly so.
I like the idea of these January beers, and this was executed pretty well in my eyes.

Outstanding low abv option for Treehouse. Wish they carried this year-round.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Tree House Brewing Company, Charlton, MA
12.27.2024
Served in a tulip
The beer poured a hazy, dull yellow ochre hue and was topped by a thin, creamy, bright white crown that quickly dissolved. A wall of patchy, streaky lacing blanketed the glass and stuck around for a while.
Considering the style and the ABV, the aroma far exceeded my expectations. Tropical fruit notes came through big time. Loads of sweet, juicy mango and papaya. Good amount of weed-like dankness. Nice zippy citrus presence as well. A lemony tartness appeared as the beer sat. Bit of crisp wheatiness too.
The flavor profile was also impressive. Again, tropical fruit notes came through strong. Big sweet-tart passion fruit presence. Juicy citrus notes took over as the beer moved along the palate. Orange flesh was most prominent. Touch of zesty orange peel as well. Nice tart, lemony presence in the center. Good dose of crisp wheatiness too. More citrus on the back end and in the finish. Grapefruit perhaps. Hint of lingering, zesty grapefruit peel after the swallow.
The mouthfeel was perhaps the only aspect of the beer that was a bit disappointing. It was thinner bodied. Almost a touch watery. The liquid contained a fine, somewhat spritzy effervescence that was more reminiscent of soda than beer. The body definitely did not come close to the rich, plush suppleness of a typical Tree House hoppy beer.
My pregnant wife wanted to try this beer, and we were both amazed by just how good it was for a something with such a low ABV. Although technically not non-alcoholic, this blows away every NA offering I have sampled.

Packaged in a 16-oz can stamped 1.4.24. Poured to a Nonic at fridge temp.
Orange hazy body, but much more translucent that a normal NEIPA. A not quite two finger head of white sits on top.
The aroma is of papaya with a medicinal background.
Taste is still has the papaya but it is far overshadowed by a Pepto Bismol taste. Also reminds me of the taste of liquid antibiotics when I was a child.
The body is light as you would imagine. This might be more palatable if it was over carbonated.
Actual drain pour, and I purchased 4 cans!

At 2.5% ABV this beer does deliver nice color and generally good flavor, certainly better than virtually all NA IPAs, which seems to be the competition. This is a great offering for those (like me) who are sober curious and experimenting with reducing alcohol intake during Dry January. I very much like that TH crafted a beer that has nice color and slight haze, decent smell and flavor (albeit a much more similar to Juicelious than Julius) and a solid feel. If refinements can be made to bring smell and flavor closer to Julius it would be a superior low ABV offering.

From a 16oz can dated 01/04/23. Excellent flavor for such a low abv ale. Would be very refreshing in the summer. Bring on July Julius as a summer session ale!

Absolutely love it. While I appreciate and enjoy the higher alcohol content of other beers this is a pure refresher. More January Julius please!!

Had on tap. Pours hazy, pale straw yellow in color with one inch head. Taste is mango and vanilla. Very light body, moderate high carbonation, slightly sweet. For the abv, this is. excellent. Mango vanilla ice cream, a bit watery, but otherwise a great beverage. A lot lot better than other beers at this abv. Could totally session in the summer. Bring on January Green.
