From a 16oz can, dated 02/01/23. Served in a Deerfield taproom first anniversary pub glass… because #properglassware.
Pours dark brown like a strong cup of coffee. A big pouffy beige head holds up for several minutes before folding down into a thick foamy cap with scattered wads of lacing.
Nose is roasty-malty with a sharp mineral tang edge. Aroma is predominantly of coffee beans - not brewed coffee; the beans themselves.
Taste is, unsurprisingly, reminiscent of cold-brew coffee. More surprisingly, it doesn’t especially taste like beer at all. It tastes flat-out like a glass of cold-brew coffee. There’s a nice little tangy-sharp coffee berry note.
Feel is smooth and round, medium bodied and brightly carbonated - the first clue, in fact, that I’m not actually drinking a glass of coffee.
Summation: coffee. Looks like coffee, smells like coffee, tastes like coffee. Good coffee, tasty as the dickens and I sure enjoyed it, but there wasn’t anything particularly beer-like to talk about here.

Canned 2/1/23. “Beer is good and stuff” stamped on the bottom of the can
So Nomad is my go to Tree House non-IPA. Czech Dark Lagers are such a versatile style, and they do a very good job with it. Nomad Oak was good, but a bit of a downgrade. This latest variant however, sounds like it could be really good. The OG already has a nice coffee bite to it, so I’m perfectly fine with more of that. Let’s get into it
Pours a slightly cloudy reddish brown with 3 fingers of soapy light tan head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
Holy shit that’s a ridiculous amount of coffee in the nose. I’m picking up on aromas of drip coffee, spent coffee beans, pumpernickel toast, burnt caramel, earthy hops, cocoa powder, and a touch of peanut
It’s a bit less coffee forward in taste, but still just as good. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting cocoa powder, dark bread, medium roast coffee, toffee, burnt caramel, vanilla, earthy hops, and light raisin. The swallow brings notes of drip coffee, cocoa powder, sweet caramel, pumpernickel toast, earthy hops, toffee, and burnt sugar
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky and coats the mouth
It’s definitely my least favorite Nomad so far, but this is still pretty good. Pretty similar to Revolution’s Coffee Eugene but a bit better

Pours clear, chestnut in color with one third inch head. Taste is roasted coffee, brown bread, and toasted malt. Medium light body, moderate carbonation, roasty. Nice incorporation of coffee. Solid beer but not one I will likely get again.
