Every element of this beer has been carefully crafted to deliver a smooth and unforgettable drinking experience. Oh, Danny Boy is crafted from 2-row, roasted barley, and chocolate malt, imparting a decadence that punches well above its weight. The crack of the can entices your senses for the chocolate-like pour to come. In the glass, it features flavors of freshly roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and caramel offset by a dry and thirst-quenching bitterness. By mimicking an authentic Dublin water profile, Oh, Danny Boy features an authentic drinking experience that will stand up to its historical brethren and surely please the most ardent critics of the style.

Nitro version. Poure near black, big 3.5" tan head with good retention, but overall a bit more loose than expected from a nitro Irish. no lacing. Nose has a familiar whiff of Tree House yeast, which gives it a fruity aroma off the bat. After a few minutes, chocolate milk and cocoa powder start to come through, along with some roasted barley as well. Taste Finish is tannic and dry, with a slight tartness that feels in line with its Irish cousins. Where this fails is the feel - it's almost non-existant - there's very little carbonation here, but little weight to speak of as well; it falls off extremely quickly. Still, I think this does capture that slightly tart or basic aspect that you find in a canned Guinness, so that's something.

Can labeled Spring 2025, consumed 03/04/25.

Nitro version. Pours deep black with nice tan head after slightly shaking can before opening. Roasty, malt, cocoa, coffee are all flavors I picked up on but overall flavors more muted than I would’ve liked. Was hoping for a super charged Guiness but overall slightly disappointing

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The nitro beer pours a deep black color with brown bubbles of nitro streaming up through the body of the brew. The nitro bubbles settle to the top leaving a thick foamy brown colored foam head on the brew. The head fades slowly over time leaving a decent showing of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a coffee and roasted malt smell mixed with notes of caramel and vanilla. Along with these smells comes a little bit of chocolate and crème.
Taste – The taste begins with a creamy roasted and toasted malt flavor mixed with some sweeter cocoa and coffee. The coffee has notes of vanilla and crème mixed within, and with some caramel and molasses, the taste is a bit on the sweeter side for a dry Irish stout. As the taste develops, the chocolate and sweet get a bit more intense, especially the vanilla, leaving one with a rich, but balanced roasty and toasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – Being a nitro pour, the body of the brew is creamy and smooth. Classic and fantastic for the style, making a very easy sipper.
Overall – A quite nice dry Irish stout that is a bit on the sweeter and richer side.
