In New England our love of pumpkin knows no bounds! Pumpkin beer has been a staple since our country’s beginning—a lack of barley and wheat forced brewers of yore to turn to these starchy gourds as a source of fermentable sugars. Lucky for us, we have a plethora of hearty grains at our disposable that we employ in this decadent rendition of Double Shot before it is conditioned on robust pumpkin spice coffee.
Pouring jet black with a frothy chestnut brown head, Double Shot Pumpkin Spice is a stout lover’s dream. Aromas of rich, cocoa-dusted coffee beans, sweet roasted pumpkin, plus warming cinnamon and nutmeg rise from the glass. Following behind are flavors of dense chocolate brownies, sweet latte hard candy, and pumpkin spice cake. Double Shot Pumpkin Spice is the perfect fireside companion for a fall evening. Share it with those you love.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Picked up at the brewery last fall and has been in my cellar since then.
The beer pours a dark coffee brown color with almost no light passing through my glass. A dense creamy tan head foams up about 1.5 cm and fades slowly to a sturdy edge layer and some small islands on the center of my glass. The foam leaves some dense lattice when I swirl or take a sip from my glass.
Aroma is rich with coffee and dark chocolate notes with a little roasted malt and only faint spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. But the spice is very subdued in the background.
First sip reveals a medium to lighter body with very silky smooth texture and fine spacious carbonation. Beer is a little lighter than I expected but is fine for a imperial stout.
Flavor is roasted malts and dark chocolate with some sweetened coffee and then a bit of pumpkin notes and again nutmeg coming through. The nutmeg actually lingers a bit after each sip and some faint cinnamon as well.
Beer is very easy to drink and isnt as spicy as I thought it may be. This is a decent coffee stout, but its not in my top tier of the style.

Hadon tap at Sandwich. Pours opaque, dark brown in color with minimal head. Taste is big pumpkin spice and oasty coffee. Medium heavy body, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet roasty. Nice pumpkin beer. Coffee is mercifully subdued.

Poured from a 16oz can into pint glass on 11/19/2023. There is a stamp on the bottom with the date "Autumn 2023", and the quote "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC!". I drank this about 1 month after purchase at their Tewksbury facility.
Appearance: Dark brown and opaque, like a stout/porter.
Smell: Pleasant, with a spicy pumpkin as well as chocolate aromas. Some caramel and cinnamon aroma to a lesser extent.
Taste: Very nice and a unique taste. I can definitely taste the pumpkin, and there are some sweet flavors like maple syrup or chocolate brownie, which makes for a unique taste. Some coffee and roasted malt flavors. I like this better than most other pumpkin ales I have tried.
Feel: This is thicker than other pumpkin ales, with a similar feel to Founder's KBS series. Strong alcohol that matches the 8.6% listed on the label, but not overwhelming.
This is an interesting seasonal beer by Tree House. This is my favorite pumpkin ale along with Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin. This is sweeter, while Weyerbacher has more spice in the flavor. Another great offering from Tree House. I will buy this again.

Good head production and OK retention.
Aroma is a nice blend of coffee, potent stout base, and a touch of pumpkin spice.
Flavor translates very well. The spice (which can easily overpower) is present but restrained. Notes of caramel, toffee, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and pumpkin spice.
Very creamy and full body.
