Nestled in southwestern Colorado, Billy Goat Hop Farm is known for sustainably growing top-quality hops over its 32 acres. The farm’s unique geography yields a singular character to its hop varietals, which, in turn, transforms into the refreshingly delicious beer in your glass. They are also winners of the prestigious Cascade Cup, a yearly recognition by the Hop Quality Group for the best Cascade in America. As so often happens in our travels, our introduction to Billy Goat happened by chance—we literally drove past en route to this year’s 2023 harvest! Trail Billy Goat Cascade pours a stunning yellow color into your glass, and offers notes of vibrant citrus and mixed pine—it’s a showcase of the magic that happens.

12 oz can. Pours golden with long lasting white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and biscuit malt. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of citrusy, piney hops, and bready malt. Finish is long and hoppy. Cascade hops make the brew taste like pale ale.

Delicately chill fogged straw yellow with a quite tall and beautifully condensed lukr pulled head of bright white here on-site in Cape Cod.
Whoa. The 1st sip disappears so fast it's almost impossible to grasp characteristics. The medium body exhibits a crispness that expands to a firm mouthfeel while performing an exercise in measured subtlety. It's just the faintest toasted corn biscuit with grassy contrast in the finish.
Expert level.
Having a can at home seems to reveal a slightly more noticeably hoppier edge than on draft, while still quite delicious. As my buddy Sean described it: perfectly hoppy without tasting like a petite IPA.

Poured from the 12oz can into a pint glass. This is a dry hopped German pils, from 2024. Trail pours a vibrant, cloudy, golden yellow with a snow white head and dense lacing. Aroma is malt forward with a citrus underbelly that carries you to the next sip. Taste is round and crisp, with notes of honey, brioche and a tart apple. As the pallate progresses, the apple is joined by pear and apricot, before finishing fizzy and dry with the essence of grapefruit bitterness. Mouthfeel is a ‘crispy boi’, light and fizzy beer with full flavor. Trail "Billy Goat Cascade” is a very good pint. Cheers!

Don’t know if this year’s version is different or not. This can’s description says it’s wet hopped but does not say that here on the site. Either way, very unique, herbal delicious taste. Love the wet hopped beers. Wish I could get more of them!

Pours a hazy golden. Some zested lime on the nose. I get lime and grapefruit. It’s zesty. I have been impressed with these German Pilsner hop features and this is no different. Enjoyable, on draft at least.
