Seedling Whole Cone is a dry-hopped lager brewed with a select Chinook and Simcoe hops blend.

Beginning with whole cone Chinook in the lauter tun and continuing through the dry hop, Seedling is oozing with American hop character.

It pours a golden yellow color into your glass and carries rich, fresh hop notes of tangerine and pine on top of a gentle, sweet malt base. The body is smooth and easy-drinking, making this gem a pleasure to drink, time and time again. Enjoy!

Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a super thick, white, frothy head. Superb lacing leftover coating the glass. Smells a lot like a pilsner. Taste is also a lot like a pilsner however the hop resin flavor also comes through as does a nice bitterness.

Kind of a lager version of Sap. I had the "regular" (not whole cone) version a little while ago, and will do a side-by-side comparison, but initial impressions of the whole cone version are that it just has a bit more of the Chinook character.

Pours fabulous golden semi-lucent with a fluffy merengue head that retains. Excellent looking, aroma is as advertised piney, lemon grass. Taste is crackers, spicy with pine and malt. Smacky bitterness remains. Feel is crisp, clean. Smooth and nice, it’s very good!

Poured from a 16-oz undated can to a Nonic at fridge temp.
The body is translucent gold. A 1.5” inch head of pure white clings to the glass. The head is impressive, the body not so much.
The aroma is quite strong with onion on the first whiff. This kind of fades to dankness.
The flavor is dank and piney. Definitely hoppy but just not quite clean. There is some kind of off flavor underlying this that I cannot place.
Carbonation is a little past medium and the mouthfeel is oily and light.
Not a fan but would not refuse a free one from a friend.

Pours murky, gold in color with two inch head. Taste is big pine cone, earthy hops and pilsner malt. Bitter, moderate carbonation, light body. A lot better than I thought. Provides a nice west coast twist to this pilsner. Could drink several.

From a 16oz can, date-stamped ‘Winter 2024.’ Even though, technically, I bought it in the autumn of 2023. I mean, seriously, wtf? Served in a Tree House-branded will becher pub glass.

Pours a nearly clear, vigorously carbonated, honey-gold with a two-finger head of whipped merengue-like fluff. Retention is nearly excellent, leaving a seafoam cap and a tattered curtain of sticky lacing.

Nose is crackery-sharp and spicy. Aromas of pine and lemon peel.

Taste is biting and crackery-sharp. Tasting tangerine and lemon peel first followed by pine sap and a sustained spicy, piney, peppery finish.

Feel is clean and crisp, medium bodied and brightly carbonated. Hop-oily tingles.

Overall, a really nice… IPL, I guess. Very unTree House-like. The easy comparison would be Hoponius Union but, fact is, in a blind tasting, I'd more likely have guessed I was drinking one of the Stoneface IPA’s. Nice beer, really tasty, but not what I drive all the way to Deerfield for… OK, truth is, I drive all the way to Deerfield for the pizza but, still.
