The magic of terroir—the environmental conditions, especially soil and climate, in which hops are grown and given their unique flavor and aroma—continues to enthrall us at Tree House.
To illustrate the difference between region and growing conditions, we have begun the Many Ways series, which seeks to brew single-hop beers with hops sourced from specific growing regions and farms.
Part Two contains Citra grown exclusively by our friends at Coleman Agriculture in St. Paul, Oregon. It expresses Citra in a singular fashion, with familiar notes of bright citrus and stone fruit, but with a unique clementine-like character and a hint of vanilla! This expression is sublime and original paired with Tree House’s unique house character.

Can date 1/31/24. Straw-gold in color and densely hazed. Terrific nose of citrus and stone fruit as well as on the palate. Smooth mouthfeel with pleasant dankness and mild bitterness. This is an excellent NE DIPA.

Explosively citrus aroma, strongly reminiscent of orange. Lightly and brightly herbal; slightly dank. Touch of vanilla. Very little tropical fruit on the nose.
Translates well to the palate, arguably still more citrus than tropical, although there are notes of mango, papaya, and peach. Tangerine, vanilla, lemon lead the way. Very mildly dank.
